D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Combinant son enfance suédoise et ses origines éthiopiennes, le célèbre chef Marcus Samuelsson offre aux New-yorkais·es un lieu innovant de cuisine fusion mettant les fruits de mer à l'honneur, et qui ne pouvait que venir de lui. The three-course, family-style menu will be served using items from the collection, and will highlight the inspirations behind both the food and designs: Marcus’s Ethiopian heritage, Swedish upbringing and New York City home base. Excellent restaurant. The food and drinks are exceptional. I decided to do the chef’s selection and was disappointed in the selections offered. I understand you cannot have everything but should really think about offerings. I have done numerous chef tasting menus, this was the least inclusive. For example, a bread basket that allowed the table to sample biscuits and blue cornbread would have been logical. Additionally, long waits between courses. In short, Food great but would have been better off ordering 4 entrees.

We dined for the first time at Hav and Mar for their Thanksgiving Jubilee Buffet. The dining room is deceivingly intimate for being such a large space, helped by the lighting, artwork and music. We were made to feel immediately welcomed by the friendly and professional staff. The buffet had a generous variety of offerings that had us back for seconds to explore and enjoy more of the unique dishes (I can’t remember the names but the porcini curry dish and the sea bass we’re outstanding), and admittedly a third visit for more of the corn bread. We look forward to coming back again where we can enjoy the full menu and another one of their clever cocktails. Thank you for a great Thanksgiving meal!! Brenda and John

We ordered breadbasket tuna tartare and salmon for the table. All excellent! We also loved our main dishes- pasta fish and mushroom curry. Our waiter Axel took great care of us!! Interesting food in an interesting space!!

The menu was ecclectic. Highly recommend the blue cornbread, tuna tartare and the wild mushroom curry. We tried several of their cocktails. Favourites were Express Yourself and Hav & Martini. For a large restaurant, it was surprisingly quiet. Servers were attentive. Definitely recommend.
