Since 1938, Hattie’s has served fine Southern and Louisiana cuisine in a friendly, downhome
atmosphere, earning legions of fans for the past 85 years. Over its long history,
Hattie’s has provided consistent commitment to its customers, staff, and community
across several locations in the Capital Region of New York. Currently, customers can
enjoy the Hattie’s experience at the original restaurant in Downtown Saratoga Springs,
a quick service offering in Wilton Plaza, and a seasonal location at the Saratoga
RaceTrack and now at the Historic Lombardos landmark in Albany!

We went to Hattie's for the famous Fried Chicken. But after seeing all the interesting, mouth-watering choices on the menu, we decided on the shrimp and grits (which was out of this world,) and the jambalaya (as good as any we tasted in New Orleans ....including Emeril Lagasse's restaurant!) And then came dessert. A Basque Sweet Potato Cheesecake which was out of this world. The portions were generous. As for ambiance and service.......both were excellent. We will be coming back again!

Went there on Father’s Day with a reservation. There were only 2 servers for the entire place. Even though we had a reservation, the host forgot about us due to a big party being sat at the same time. The waiter did the best he could, but he was sat several tables at a time with a big party on top of it. Our drinks were completely forgotten about until we asked for them - we received them when we were halfway through our meal. Several tables walked out in our time there. Our credit card was handed back to us covered in syrup. Would not recommend or return.

I’m not one to ever leave a negative review of a local establishment but the service was really disappointing. We had a reservation at 7:30 for a party of 5. Drinks took considerable amount of time to arrive as the bar was backed up, we said no problem, no rush. Food took a good 45 minutes to arrive as the kitchen was backed up, we said no problem no rush. However once we finally received our food a quarter to 9, we were rushed out the door. 5 minutes into eating we were asked about dessert. 5 minutes later when all of us were clearly not even halfway through our meals we were offered boxes. If you’re going to have issues at the backend, you need to offer your customers the courtesy of time to actually eat their meals. To kick out your guests because of the kitchen delays is no way to run a business, especially one where customers are paying $25 for fried chicken.

The food was just ok. Nothing I couldn’t have easily made myself at home. The service was incredibly slow. The person who sat us put us at the wrong table in their system, so the people next to us got our appetizer and there were other hiccups until they system was corrected. We were there for an hour and 45 minutes and most of that time was spent waiting. We won’t be back. Really bummed because we wanted to like this restaurant so much.

I made a reservation for a birthday dinner using OpenTable in advance, but there weren’t enough seats at the table when we arrived. Despite our large party, which guaranteed included gratuity, our waiter tried to upsell us on double appetizers to increase the bill. One of our main courses was forgotten, and to top it off, the waiter asked for an extra cash tip even though it was already included in the bill. While the food was pretty good, my guests and I agreed that we would not return due to the poor service.
