Since 1938, Hattie’s has served fine Southern and Louisiana cuisine in a friendly, downhome
atmosphere, earning legions of fans for the past 85 years. Over its long history,
Hattie’s has provided consistent commitment to its customers, staff, and community
across several locations in the Capital Region of New York. Currently, customers can
enjoy the Hattie’s experience at the original restaurant in Downtown Saratoga Springs,
a quick service offering in Wilton Plaza, and a seasonal location at the Saratoga
RaceTrack and now at the Historic Lombardos landmark in Albany!

Great experience overall. Specialty cocktails were exquisite, the mojito especially! Matthew was the perfect amount of service without being intrusive since my friend and I kept him late catching up! Vibes and decor were incredible! The food was not the highlight, my chicken sandwich was stringy and chewy...how that happens, I'm unsure but the flavor profile was good overall.

Food was great, the warning about the servers being new to the restaurant business was great. Yams could have been better, tasted like they say there for awhile. Ribs were amazing, only thing to fix was really the music.. there was none, some low jazz music would have suited this perfectly. Overall I will be back again and will recommend it to others.

Food was delicious, but service was ridiculously slow; I believe there was an issue with their ticketing system. Took an hour+ for food to arrive, and my appetizer never showed. Other tables were walking out due to the wait times. Food was delicious though when it arrived.

Awful experience. A computer system was down, meaning everything was being done by hand and communication between the bar, kitchen, and servers was nonexistent. This does not excuse the fact that no one even came to our table for almost 30 minutes, we did not have water or cocktails for an hour, and most frustrating no one informed us of these issues upon checking in for the reservation when we still would have had ample time to pivot to a different restaurant. We left after getting our appetizers over an hour after ordering because our server could not tell us when we were getting our food and we had a show to attend. To find out now this has been an issue for at least 2 days, they haven’t figured out how to manage it, and again we weren’t told in advance is completely unacceptable. Hugely disappointing experience.

Terrible in every way. The computers went down but no one told us. Everything took twice as long and then the food was almost inedible. They had the chance to comp us a drink or two but didn’t. Poorly handled.

So glad we chose Hattie’s for brunch. We will be back. The beignets were awesome and as good as Cafe Damond’s in New Orleans. The staff was very friendly and caring. Loved their decor. Great southern comfort food.

The fried chicken was excellent as usual. The mashed potatoes and candied yams were excellent as sides. We had the Cajun Oysters for an app, which were great and I had a slice of Key Lime pie for dessert . Service was excellent.

This is a go-to for great Southern food. Biscuits, livers, fried chicken , greens, jambalaya are all excellent and spot on as my wife from Virginia will attest. Nice cocktail list and great bar. Be careful if you want to try their great desserts... good-sized portions along with individual appetizers might fill you up, so plan your meal well! Great photos at the Albany location of Hattie and Bill from the early days. You must try!
