The Hartwood Restaurant enjoys a rich history. The originally the headquarters of the Harmar Coal Company. Purchased in 1988, the building was transformed into retail space, including antiques and a bookstore. Café tables were soon added amongst the book shelves, Over the years, The Hartwood Restaurant has evolved into a charming and unique place for meals, drinks, and events. The elegant dining rooms and a pub featuring hand-tooled woodwork and stained glass artwork.
The Hartwood also features outdoor dining in a garden-like atmosphere, complete with a wood burning fireplace. Whisper’s Pub features an eclectic wine list from around the world with more than a dozen different wines by the glass, as well as seasonal cocktails, craft beers, and wine flights.
Enjoy the many different spaces our restaurant has to offer, including the intimate tables in our dining rooms, Whisper's Pub, dining al fresco, and private rooms for parties. It's the perfect location for your next meal or event.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. We were pleasantly surprised when we got our favorite waitress, Alexis. She’s the best!! Alexis is attentive and energetic. It’s always a great night when we have her. The food NEVER disappoints either!!

I reserved a table for two of my friends. We did a short hike first and arrived 15 minutes early. They seated us with no complaints. I’m dairy sensitive and one of us is a vegetarian. Our server answered all my questions about dairy in some of the dishes as I can tolerate cheese but no heavy cream. She was just super helpful! We will go back again!

A friend and I had lunch on Oct 31st - Halloween. It was pretty quiet but a beautiful afternoon. The host was friendly and welcoming. The outside area was open. We opted to sit in the bar at a high top. Lovely service from Jordan. Delicious couscous with perfectly cooked salmon. A little less (raw) red onion would have been my preference but my companion disagreed. Good Bloody Marys. Clean, comfortable beautiful restaurant. One of my favorite places to dine.
