The Hartwood Restaurant enjoys a rich history. The originally the headquarters of the Harmar Coal Company. Purchased in 1988, the building was transformed into retail space, including antiques and a bookstore. Café tables were soon added amongst the book shelves, Over the years, The Hartwood Restaurant has evolved into a charming and unique place for meals, drinks, and events. The elegant dining rooms and a pub featuring hand-tooled woodwork and stained glass artwork.
The Hartwood also features outdoor dining in a garden-like atmosphere, complete with a wood burning fireplace. Whisper’s Pub features an eclectic wine list from around the world with more than a dozen different wines by the glass, as well as seasonal cocktails, craft beers, and wine flights.
Enjoy the many different spaces our restaurant has to offer, including the intimate tables in our dining rooms, Whisper's Pub, dining al fresco, and private rooms for parties. It's the perfect location for your next meal or event.

Loved their NYE menu. Servers were excllent, everything was cooked to perfection. A gem of a restauraunt.

We dined here on New Year’s Eve we did not know it was only a 5 course meal available, for $95 per person. I didn’t see any notification of this on the website when I booked the reservation. We didn’t eat 75% of the meal as I’m on a restricted diet and my girlfriend has restrictions too. Had we known this we would have gone elsewhere. But being NYE and not finding out that this was the only option for dinner we were stuck. The food we did eat, the salads, the salmon and scallops, and the lobster were good. We also had an excellent waiter. But definitely not worth the cost since we we couldn’t eat most of the appetizers nor dessert. In the future I would make it more known to your guests that there is only one menu on New Year’s Eve.

The menu was creative with options for both adventurous and conservative diners. Our waiter was terrific, available but not intrusive.

Beautiful place, excellent service! Had late lunch here with friends recently. Decorated beautifully for the holidays. Food is so good - goat cheese ravioli and crème brûlée were so good! Service was really fantastic, patient, and so nice. Whole meal for all of us was perfect. Definitely recommend!

5 adults out celebrating my birthday. The seasonal specialty cocktails were delicious. Everything from literally soup to nuts were delicious. Clam chowder, calamari, variety of salads, entrees of lamb burgers, pork chop, fish sandwiches, ravioli and vegetable fettuccine. Then a candy cane crusted and pecan covered vanilla ice cream ball for dessert. Multiple items shared and enjoyed by all. Waitstaff, hostesses and waiter, friendly and personable. Wonderful dining space/atmosphere. Lovely evening with family.
