Harold Black is a warm, intimate bar that is quiet enough to hear your conversation yet lively enough to keep you talking. A list of house cocktails gives you a range of options, additionally, the bartenders are ready to work their magic if you have something else in mind. Harold Black serves a light-fare menu with a selection of cured meats, cheeses and desserts. Please be aware of a few house rules: 1. We look forward to having you join us and are happy to hold your table for up to fifteen minutes. 2. Your booking reserves your seats for 2 hours. 3. Due to our small size we cannot guarantee booth seating. 4. Our maximum party size is six people, no exceptions, and unfortunately we cannot book multiple tables for one group. Terrible experience, four drinks took an empty bar half an hour and we didn’t even finish our drink from how bad they were.

I like the concept of this place and I think the drinks are good but the idea that Harold Black is a speakeasy is comical. Not sure they played rap music at 9/10 volume in the 1930’s during prohibition. Might be worth rethinking calling it a speakeasy or changing the tune.

The initial reservation was dinner for 2 at Acuqua Al 2 but we were escorted to Harold Black restaurant directly below the Al 2 restaurant. We were good with the atmosphere, but our server had no clue what he was doing. We had to request a dinner menu and ask about any daily specials or dinner highlights. The server had no clue. When he finally came back around we ordered drinks. He had about 6 tables or so that my wife and watched as he stumbled through. He painfully took our order with simple questions about the menu. Our order included entrees and an appetizer (that we never received). When the meals came, the center was completely cold. My wife’s Branzino was cooked well but the remaining food was some what cold as well. I immediately asked for management and explained the whole situation and we left. As we left I still tipped the bartender as the drinks were great!

Our group was impressed with the setting, the drinks and food; however, the ambience was ruined by the loud hip hop that was cranked up around 7:30. It drowned out our conversation and ruined what was supposed to be a mellow "speakeasy" style bar.

Such a great experience! My son, his gf & I came for drinks & dessert for Mothers Day. My fave dessert is the panna cotta with passion fruit purée. It’s fabulous! Stellar service, food, vibe!

We are not unfamiliar with Harold Black. The space has potential. Our server was great. Our cocktails were unfortunately so-so. Of all the classics we ordered , the Aviation was the only one that was close to being true to what it should be. The Japanese Cocktail, and NY Sour were both too citrus-heavy. We were also seated next to a trio of young patrons who took photography with flash on nonstop. We were bombarded with loud screams and flash going off every few seconds. So that particular experience wasn’t great. Given that 1 out of 6 cocktails was decent, we are unlikely to return.

Good food and good cocktails. A little bit noisy, but not unreasonable for a bar. Nice atmosphere

This was my second visit and I must say my first visit was much better. The noise level was extremely high, the service was slow, and the food wasn't great. I am hoping this was a one-off because I thought I found a gem.

Too loud, too dark, very limited menu. Would not return. We ended eating upstairs where the food was very salty.
