The reason for my rating is to do with the food and service. We came here as it was easier for food before the evening concert we was seeing at the same venue. It took over two hours for us to revive our food, we had two different staff members come to us and updated us that the kitchen machine was broken, and all the orders must be retaken. This was about an hour in, our order was then taken again on paper and told they would take it to the kitchen. We asked how long it would take we was advised 6 to 7 minutes. 15 mins pass we asked where our food is the staff member did not know and said they would go and have a look; come back and said it will be with you soon. 25 min in still no sign. We were then offered a free drink and a refund for the meal, we asked how long it will take as we have a show to watch. At this point, the warmup act had already been on and gone. They then retook our order, and it got to 2 hours, at this point my partner started to get very upset as we were so hungry and this was meant to be a lovely evening and this has just put a massive dent into it. I kid you not as we were not getting anywhere with the staff we went and stood by the food hatch until our order was made, the chief had no idea what was going on as they were back up in the kitchen so much, It was not for us standing there we would not of got our food. Now when we got the food it was lovely and very tasty. It was a complete shambles and made the night one to remember. I would not have minded, but we travel all the way up from Oxford for the show and this is not what we expected.

Food was lovely. I had the paprika Cuban sandwich. Girl behind the bar was fantastic. Made sure we knew where to find everything. Only thing to note was we had the same order of drinks and the second time it was more expensive and served differently (southern comfort and Diet Coke came in a glass double the size than the first one so was watered down by the amount of Coke). Venue was nice. Nice atmosphere. Came here for a gig but will definitely return.

Super smooth and friendly service. Went with the roast, now only in its second week, and found it generous and really nicely balanced in terms of quantity, seasonings, gravy, choice of veg, etc. Food arrived quickly at a good temperature. Shared a dessert which was also delicious (white chocolate cheesecake) and left very satisfied. Ambience was nice and cosy Sunday pub vibes and, although it was pretty busy, everything felt manageable and relaxed for customers and staff. A very welcome addition to what was quite a glaring gap in Kings Heath roast dinner offerings. Prices were fair.

Amazing Sunday lunch on the launch day. It was busy, but the wait wasn’t long and the kitchen was able to deal with the tables of families, couples and a birthday. Lovely atmosphere, super cocktails, great staff and yummy food. Well done Hare and Hounds.
