We booked in advance thinking it would be very busy and had dire warnings as to what would happen if we did not arrive on time. As it was we arrived on time and the place was empty of customers. Food was OK not outstanding for a fish restaurant, a limited menu and then mussels were not available. Service was poor, young waiters were well meaning but seemed poorly trained, constantly overlapping each. Two of our party asked to have the starter soup as a main course, i.e. a bigger portion, one waiter went away to ask, the next waiter to the table said it was not possible. It was possbile in the end but second waiter's blanket "no" perhaps indicates a lack of training or unwilingness to be obliging. Poor selection of drinks, no cocktails, one beer only I think

We dined in The Harbour Inn twice this week and it didn’t disappoint on either visit. The food was delicious and the staff were efficient and very friendly. Will definitely visit again.

It wasn't particularly busy when we arrived on Wednesday evening. We did not order starters but still waited almost 1hr for our main courses to arrive. In that time we asked two different servers to replenish our drinks. Eventually we asked at the bar ourselves. The food was OK as was the atmosphere & decor.

We pop in to the Harbour inn for lunch whenever in Lyme. Wonderful Sunday lunch, great view, just lovely!

Both meals were bland and the wine was not much better. My wife's glass was filthy and covered in lipstick, don't know why a waiter would deliver the wine and not check the glasses. I have been to this restaurant many times over a 30 years period and I am amazed at how it's standards have dropped. Could say more about other issues on the night, but can't be bothered. Restaurant manager offered his apologies and deducted the price of the wine bottle from our bill. As it was my wife and my first wedding anniversary, it spoilt the whole evening. Would not recommend this place.

Came here for my wife's birthday. Excellent Food, beautifully cooked. Delicious Scallops to start then my wife had a huge bowl of Bouillabaisse with Rosemary Focaccia while I had excellent Pan-fried Hake with roasted Vegetables. My only criticism is the small quantity of vegetables that came with the Hake. One roasted carrot and one stalk of broccoli, plus some excellent Dauphinoise potato. Not enough to make a complaint but a little more would have just topped the dish up well. Great friendly service, not intrusive and well informed staff who understood what they were serving. We will definitely be coming back.

It was very busy at the Harbour Inn in Lyme Regis which meant a lot of waiting. We booked lunch for 5 including a 4 year old at 2:15. Although two of us arrived just before the appointed time. The rest of us arrived 10 mins afterwards. It would have helped to know the kitchen closed at 2:30. We just managed to give our order in time. We were also disappointed that the beef one us chose was not available. The cod and chips we all had was delicious although we have liked curry sauce to be available. With drinks and tip the bill came to £100. We could have had similar from the beach side kiosks for a lot less but we wished to avoid being attacked by the circling seagulls like some others were at the time and because this was a special birthday meal.

Excellent food as always and great service. As a regular I do find the pricing creeping up a bit and probably reduce visits as quite expensive
