Bone in Steak the best I have ever had. The potatoes were excellent. The cheesecake divine. Loved the chocolate martini and the Tennessee apple martini. Awesome bartenders. Lovely hostess. Very attentive service. Lounge singer volume was too loud for space. High end tequila price should have been advised. Our waiter was great until the very end, too many repeats about the tip.

Great Find thanks to Open Table. Very attentive servers. Also knowledgable of the menu and suggested pairings. Food was great. Recommended wine very enjoyable. Only negative we had was table was located such that when the front door was open, you could quickly feel the cold outdoor weather blowing over the area, would suggest they consider some kind of double door entrance to minimize outside weather impact on an otherwise perfect experience.

I took our team out to Hal's for a holiday celebration, and it was absolutely fabulous. Great wine selection and Old Fashions. The huge Seafood Tower was packed with tiers of fresh seafood and the steaks were the best we have had in Nashville. They were seasoned and cooked to perfection, much better than some other local steak or chop houses! And finally, Jeremy was such a fun and professional server. He helped with ordering the right number of sides and apps, and always had clutter removed from our table as we were cleaning up those plates! I won't hesitate to dine at Hal's again!

Brought my mom in for a Christmas celebration. The service from Jeremy and the entire staff was excellent. Our 12 oz filets were cooked to perfection, per the recommendation of our waiter. The truffle lobster Mac and cheese was sensational. Joe Hand, the live entertainment was incredible. All in all, we couldn’t recommend it more.

It was such a pleasure to dine yesterday. Ashley was such a wonderful server. She made sure everything was perfect. I had the NY Strip with a side of mushrooms.. so delicious. I finished the night with a crème brûlée, it was beyond amazing.

With so many options in Nashville for high end steaks, I thought we would give Hal’s a try for a new choice. What I expected based on reading their website and what we experienced were two completely different things. When seated we were easily given the absolute worst table in the restaurant, which is right by the main entrance and exit to the kitchen. This ended up being a bad experience with staff coming in and out around us from all directions in addition to the conversations you can hear them having about other guests. Although the server tried to be friendly, he rushed through the menu and off menu items so fast, it was hard to even understand what was what. It took over 35 minutes to get our first round of cocktails, and the appetizers came out 15 minutes prior to them being brought to the table. Well, it certainly good service to clear the table between each course we had to ask for silverware several times during the meal because they forgot to bring out a new fork or knife, even after the food had been delivered to the table. The server was not overly attentive throughout the meal. In general most of the food was pretty good, although nothing came out hot. Warm at best for the appetizers, entrees and sides. Overall, I would give the restaurant a 2.5 out of 5. They certainly have priced themselves at or above the levels of Jeff Rubys or Halls Chophouse, however, the ambience, atmosphere and overall service are lacking significantly to be at that level for the same check value. Perhaps they are focused on the Nashville visitor scene as opposed to locals who may or may not come back after their first experience (such as me). I would definitely recommend Jeff Rubys or Hall’s Chophouse and would go back to those places multiple times before coming back to Hal’s.
