The frequent U4 & L3 (summer season) services call here, These run every hour between Falmouth & Penzance via the university, Helston, Porthleven, Praa Sands & Marazion/St Michael's Mount (U4), & between Truro & Helston (L3)

Yesterday was our second carvery at the Halfway House, it’s the best Sunday lunch we’ve had for a long time. Fabulous.

We like the Ambiance. The music was a bit too loud where we were sitting but ok. Service was friendly and welcoming. We have eaten here quite a lot in the past. Unfortunately the food this time was either overcooked or undercooked which is a shame as it is usually perfect. Our fish dish was undercooked and could not be eaten. Our steak and sourdough bread and brownie all were all overcooked. Apparently there is a new chef so assuming this was the issue. Also good customer service would have been that they not charge us for the uncooked food that we couldn't eat, but sadly this wasn't the case as they still charged us for it. Unfortunately we won't eat there again. So upsetting as this was one of our favourite places to eat out.

First visit, was looking forward to a birthday carvery. Firstly the waitress was polite. The carvery, disappointing. All the meat was hard, the vegetables were soggy, the roast potatoes were hollow and tasted like they had been cooked yesterday or the day before, parsnips crazy burnt one end hard the other. No mash potatoes. Maybe this was a bad day for them or maybe this is the norm but overall a very disappointing visit one which we will not be repeating.

Definitely recommend the Carvery! Meat was lovely and nice choice of vegetables, will visit again!

Called in as we just fancied some pub grub and had seen the menu online. Car park really spacious. Staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Also patient! Orders taken in a timely fashion with helpful advice. Food brought to table good and hot. Extra veg cooked to perfection, bangers and mash spot on and pasta dish really tasty. More than happy to visit again.

Went for the Carvery. The meat was dry and the broccoli was overcooked and soggy. I was early in the queue so there is no excuse for these issues. I had asked for one of each meat but was told I couldn't as I had paid for a regular not large plate but was then given two slices of the meats I did choose (why couldn't I have one of each as there was only three to choose from?) Waiting staff however were kind and attentive.

We had a lovely first visit to the Halfway house for my sons birthday, and were very pleased with the service, food and the pub was very welcoming and cosy. Would definitely recommend and will visit again
