Located in the center of Downtown Tampa right underneath luxury apartment complex The Element , Haiku is an indoor/outdoor eatery and lounge that combines modern Izakaya cuisine with a contemporary Asian vibe to elevate the dining and nightlife experience. The menu features signature favorites including the A5 Wagyu Hot Stone and Crispy Rice Salmon and Tuna Duo. The 150-seat restaurant and lounge offers several unique dining options including two bars complete with a handcrafted cocktail menu including our house favorite Dragons Breath Martini.

Drinks were good. Food was very poor. Did not taste fresh. Sushi tasted like it came from the grocery store. Very nice ambiance. Would recommend to grab a drink but definitely would not go for dinner or food

Service was not good at all. Drinks were good, but not great WHEN you finally got one. Drink came out after the food and the appetizer came out after the entree. Sushi came out with no sauces. When asked for sauce, it never came. They did comp the drink and offer a free dessert, but honestly for the price point, really bad service.

After returning recently from three weeks in Japan, I decided to celebrate my birthday in this new place which describes itself as an Izakaya style restaurant. After reviewing the menu, found that there was something for my party , which included a vegetarian and gluten allergy. The decor was nice, the bar look good and it had an open kitchen. Our table was next to it. We ordered sharable: Pork Gyoza Dumplings,, Red Miso Shishito Peppers, Pork Bao Buns and Wood Fired Octopus (GF). After delivering the first three items, they informed that they were out of the octopus and that we will get something for the inconvenience, but we never received anything extra. The sharable items were plenty and very tasty. For dinner we ordered: pork belly fried rice, sushi rolls, a salad and they had Yakitory tasting menu that included one lobster, one beef tenderloin, one, chicken and one pork with steam rice for $49. We ordered two. The portions of all the meals were adequate and plenty, but the quality of the meats on the Yakitory was not good for the price. The beef tenderloin was to tough to eat and the pork and chicken reminded me of "pinchos" than Yakitory. About the drinks. Way too overpriced for what they delivered. The Haiku Martini was not that good. I switched to a vodka martini and the presentation was very poor. The Hibiscus Mule was decent, and the Mojito Mocktail the best was its presentation. They had a photographer charging $ 20 for photos. I bought two because I had all my children with me celebrating. Overall, the experience was good because of the company, but I don't feel the need to return to the restaurant for the food or the drinks. Haiku is perfect for the Izakaya style restaurant intention...an after work place where you can sit at the bar, have some sharable appetizers , a beer (cocktails are way too overprice for what its delivered) and unwind.

Sam hosted our party of 10 and he was amazing!!! Haiku is definitely recommended!

I managed to reserve an outside table for two. It was a nice day out in Tampa so the outside was lovely. Only downside was the congestion of flies making it difficult to eat our meal. We ending up moving from the table to the bar to finish our meal. Food was excellent, drinks were excellent and the service was excellent! Aside from our great waiter, everyone who came to the bar to grab something always asked us if we needed anything. I love how they were attentive to our needs!

Had a great pre-show dinner of salad, cocktails and sea bass (which was very tasty). Kendall was an attentive waiter, the cocktails were yummy (I got the lychee martini). The ambience is very whimsical and inspiring. Will definitely be going back!
