The food took so long to come out. The portions were tiny so we had to order more. The food took long to come out the first time and second time. Even the dessert took a long time to come out. Saw lots of people sitting around waiting.

First time in the San Jose location. Free parking is hard to find but paid parking is available. I would prefer the Cupertino location better.

This was our first time at the San Jose location. Though they were out of some things, the food was very good. Portions are smaller than they used to be at other Gyu Kakus, but I guess that's everywhere these days. Example, only 4 small pieces of kalbi per order. But the quality was good. They did seem understaffed. We had trouble flagging down our waiter (or anyone) when we needed something. They even apologized about it. But overall our experience was a good (not great) one. Note that the entrance is actually not on Almaden, it's on San Pedro. Not sure why the address is on Alamden.

Very small portions, also tried to rip us off by only giving us one round of meats and veggies when the fixed menu clearly says two! If we hadn’t had spoken up we would’ve had to pay full price for only half of the promised meal. Ridiculous pricing for low quality and minimal meat. Also even with a reservation it took 20 minutes for us to be seated and appeared to have walkins sat before us.

The service was generally okay, but I was expecting a bit more for the price. For instance, we were a party of 4, and when we ordered our drinks, she acknowledged all of them, but they missed one, and we had to remind them. Then, when it was time to pay, they couldn't combine the two orders (Mother's Day specials) and ended up splitting the orders using the same credit card. That's odd! The restaurant's concept is excellent, but the experience should be better for the price. Since there was no "maybe" for the restaurant recommendation, I selected yes, but that's just a barely yes.

Give Mustafa a raise he is the best server I've ever had at gyu kaku. Very fast when it was busy and had everything I asked for when I needed it.
