Our experience at Gyu-Kaku Japanese Restaurant was fantastic! The food was delicious and the restaurant was spotlessly clean with a great ambiance. But the real highlight was our incredible server. Despite managing multiple tables, he was professional, polite, and incredibly attentive. He made sure we felt taken care of, checking in at just the right moments while balancing his other guests effortlessly. His ability to connect with us while keeping everything running smoothly was truly impressive. Took my wife and our friends for her birthday and we were all beyond impressed with his level of service. His dedication made our night, and we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!

My experience was AWESOME 👏 Service, Food, everything was great !!! The manager Javier was excellent thank you thank you for a wonderful evening. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed , the food was very good, the service was quick. I loved the Green Tea ice cream 🍨

Again, not only for us, but for other tables as well, at some point, they just get overwhelmed or something. Took 30 minutes to get the wagyu, and then another 15 plus minutes to get the check. Other tables never got something, etc, and if you could just step up the service, it would be excellent. 2.5 hr is great, but for $200 it should be superb. Make it happen and you'll get more customers and better reviews....

Food was exceptional, service was great despite it being incredibly busy. The value of the food was pretty good but did feel a bit reserved, would have loved to have seen maybe one or two more dishes.

The food is always consistently good, but the service is always consistently slow. It’s not that their attitude is not good or not enough server. I think they are just too relaxed and sooooo slow. It always takes forever to get our orders in, get the food we need, and even checks. If you’re in a rush and don’t want to spend two hours to have your meal, you need to consider other options.

Gyu Kaku is one of our favorite restaurants in the city but the Naperville brand has the worst service. It's very poorly managed

Nikola was our server tonight and I have never had such a bad experience at Gyu-KaKu in any other location until tonight. I went with a friend after work, the server had no manners, showed no interest in recommending anything when I asked him which one of the drinks were good. We got our drinks they seemed watered down. Hadn’t even finished half of my drink and still working on the appetizers he brought us our check? We had plans to order more drinks and looking forward to dessert but Nikola definitely showed that he didn’t want to serve us. When we got our receipt it said “No alc” next to his name and my friend and I thought that meant he’s not allowed to serve alcohol since he seemed young. When we asked him if our drinks had alcohol and what that meant all he had to say was “that’s just how it prints”. If I’m paying for an alcoholic beverage, I expect there to be alcohol and not be served just juice? Once we paid, I waited about 15 mins for my card to be returned to me and again, no apology or anything for making us wait just for our card. One of the worst experiences at Gyu-KaKu due to poor service from our server. Will not be coming to this location again and overall really disappointed with Nikola’s poor service.
