We were seated at a table that the restaurant staff and management knew had a faulty grill. About 1/3 the way through cooking all of our food the grill stopped functioning as expected and we were unable to finish our meal. We were offered a new table, but had tickets to a concert and did not have time to relocate and could not make up for the lost time that our food wasn’t cooking. Wait staff was hard to locate and request additional water, beers, silverware or to notify them of the issues we were experiencing with our grill. In our small section of 6-8 tables I saw 4 servers which leads me to believe that the wait staff have tables all over Gyu Kaku rather than all the table in a defined section. I would recommend Gyu Kaku to anyone and would eat there again, but I will be hypercritical of their service and grill functionality. We’re were offered a 20% discount which we refused and worked it out with management. We found a satisfactory resolution, but this experience was certainly subpar.

If you're looking for an unique experience, this is definitely the place. Had a large party (8) and was able to get seated relatively quickly on a Wednesday night. Ended up choosing a large meal for 4 (got 2 separate orders). The number of pre-courses before the different types of meats came out was plenty. We even had smores to cap off the meal. Would definitely recommend again if in the area.

The waitress went through the menu very thoroughly and explained each option amazingly. The sauces were to die for. Super clean too. Overall amazing experience!

Waited 20mins past reservation time. Sitting at one of the top floors will add a bit of a delay. Took awhile for our apps and before we saw anyone again to replace a drink that was a little flat. We ordered assortment of veggies and did not receive it til the last of our meats were getting pulled off the grill. Despite a weekend night I would expect the level of popularity to be maintained a bit better as it is already a busy restaurant so somehow better organization for the top floors as you do the main level.
