Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant is the second restaurant from fine dining chef Curtis Stone (of Maude) and the first he’s opened with his brother Luke Stone. Gwen is both a European-style, chef-driven butcher shop and a restaurant that is redefining dining in LA, with a menu that calls on fire-based cooking techniques. Whether you’re picking up house-made charcuterie, prime and rare breed meats from the retail store, enjoying a feast in the dining room or relaxing with a bite and cocktail at the bar, Gwen delivers the highest standards of quality, taste and service.

On Wednesdays-Sundays, we offer Chef's Carte Blanche 5-course tasting menu for $130 per person (limited quantities available). À la fois boucherie haut de gamme et steakhouse, Gwen est l'œuvre de Curtis Stone et de son frère Luke Stone. Cette expérience étoilée Michelin est un éloge de tout ce qui a trait à la viande : la salle, spectaculaire, est entourée de séchoirs vitrés et pourvue d'une cheminée centrale. On peut y déguster de la charcuterie maison, des pâtes à la bolognaise de bacon et des steaks impressionnants, comme la côte de bœuf de Creekstone Farm, maturée pendant 30 jours.

splendid restaurant with awesome culinary experience. The "only" feedback I have is the limited appetizer offerings.

Everything was exceptional! From the hosts’ welcome to the delicious drinks at the bar to the wonderful dining experience; I can’t say enough about the professional and kind staff and how special they made the evening.

Erika (sp) was one of the best waitresses ever. We’re foodies and have dined at many restaurants. Erika is one of the best, if not the best. Great personality, friendly, knowledgeable… 5 stars just for Erika. NY Wagyu was one of the best steaks we’ve ever had. Not too fatty for a wagyu which wagyu can be. Better than best steaks at Mastro’s, smith and Wollensky’s tomahawk, Peter Lugers… gnocchi was okay, too salty. Recommended order. 1. NY Wagyu 2. Steak tartare (not typical like other restaurants. Much better flavor) 3. Duck fat potatoes 4. Cream corn Love their sister restaurant Maude too but heard they’re closing.

Excellent service and cocktails. Charcuterie was exceptional as was the steak tartare. We shared the aged ribeye and it was delicious - tender and seasoned and cooked perfectly. Duck fat potatoes and the tomato sides were great.

The restaurant is nice looking and feels like it is a great experience but it wasn’t. I was really looking forward to a really good meal here. The restaurant was so hot inside. The air doesn’t move at all. The drinks are good. Our 200 steak tasted good but out of the 8 slices of ribeye 2 consisted of all fat and a sliver of meat not even a bite. The next few only had one bite. I know ribeyes are fat heavy and marbled but this was not marbled it was just slices of pure fat. The duck fried potatoes and bread are great.

Gwen has a great ambience in an old theater near Hollywood and Vine. The service was attentive, the steaks were spectacular and the attention to detail was outstanding.

Amazing restaurant by Curtis and team - would highly recommend visiting. The only issue for Aussies is the price usd vs aud- but a must try in our opinion.

Unbelievable experience, Angelica was knowledgeable and a joy to be around. The food was immaculate, we did the tasting menu and did not regret it!
