Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant is the second restaurant from fine dining chef Curtis Stone (of Maude) and the first he’s opened with his brother Luke Stone. Gwen is both a European-style, chef-driven butcher shop and a restaurant that is redefining dining in LA, with a menu that calls on fire-based cooking techniques. Whether you’re picking up house-made charcuterie, prime and rare breed meats from the retail store, enjoying a feast in the dining room or relaxing with a bite and cocktail at the bar, Gwen delivers the highest standards of quality, taste and service.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays, our chefs will be offering a 5-course tasting menu for $185 per person if you reserve the chef’s counter. The whole party must enjoy the tasting menu, however, à la carte dining is available as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the restaurant at 323-946-7500.

Killer tasting menu. For only a week old seems very rehearsed and polished. Impressive! The only feedback I would have is to shrink the tasting portions down to a smaller size, keep the same price but maybe add a small intermezzo/ palate cleanser course earlier in the tasting. We will definitely be back!! Thank you BOH & FOH! Stellar work!

Gwen is our favorite restaurant in LA! The service is always impeccable and the food is exceptional. That said, we did not love our food this time, as we always do. The cauliflower and risotto were disappointing - extremely al dente without a lot of flavor. Will come back for sure but will order different menu items. We did get to try a new cocktail that we loved - the east side! Will have that again most definitely!

Brilliant anniversary dinner. Staff were very kind and accommodating of some dietary restrictions. Exceptional food. Chefs counter was great.

This was my first time visiting the restaurant. Service was timely and courteous. Food was excellent, and ambience energetic. I highly recommend the restaurant.

It's a beautiful place that has a bit of that old Hollywood feel but in a light and airy way. Our waiter Ethan was wonderful and the food was good to delicious. The three different non alcoholic drinks we ordered among our party of 6, these were all just okay. Definitely wouldn't order them again. We shared the charcuterie board (delicious!), asparagus risotto, summer squash, (both yummy) the octopus (which was so delicious we had to order another one) and the flat iron and hanger steaks (good, but expected more). We ended by sharing the sorbet, meyer lemon tart and layered chocolate cake with some decaf lattes. Everything was good to delicious but really high priced for what it was. From the higher end/special occasion restaurants we go back to again and again (like Nobu's and a few others), I don't see this one becoming one of those. Although I could see us going back for a light meal of maybe just the charcuterie board and maybe one or two more items. That being said, we're all glad we experienced Gwen's at least once.

We had the best time at Gwen. Everyone was so friendly and highly attentive but not overbearing. They gave us complimentary champagne since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious. Timed perfectly and beautifully served. We left full and happy!
