Our bbq is seasoned overnight and then smoked low and slow for up to 14 hours. We use whole pecan logs in order to create our signature smoke flavor. We're committed to serving the freshest, best possible product and smoke only enough bbq for the day. We apologize if there are times that we may run out. Food was pretty underwhelming : (…. HOWEVER… the pork nacho starter was AMAZING! But the fried chicken, fried catfish, Mac and Cheese, Greens, and mashed potatoes were SUPER underwhelming…. Not seasoned well… at all. Approach at your own risk lol

We went with a party of 6 and I was able to reserve a table right away. The servers were super nice and attentive. They were present and available without being intrusive. Everyone from the hostess to our servers were friendly and helpful. The food is delicious with generous portions. The guests we went with were from Texas and said the BBQ ribs although different than TX BBQ were just as good. They have a nice selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. Very much recommend!

A lot bigger than it looks, well, not the parking lot [public lot on Hope - lots of parking there and pretty much right across the street]. reservation was for 630 and i made a note that we'd probably be there closer to 6 - so when something opened up, they changed the reservation for me and notified me on OT! seated right when we arrived at about 545. Nice. Corn bread was a good app, just a tad greasy, but wasn't looking for health food at Gus's! Whichever rib is the fatty one, get that -i had the meatier one and it was a little too dense and chewy. brisket delicious. BUT, and i hate to admit i ordered this at a BBQ restaurant, the fried chicken was great - yes, it was just a tiny bit dry because it was a breast split open - but crunchy and fried with the skin on. god it was good. i keep thinking about how good it was. creamy corn, rich and sweet. greens, chopped in big pieces and they use even the leaves with the really big ribs so it's pretty fibrous, but cooked in a smoked pot liquor and just slightly spicy, very much like homemade. i'm not sure my wait person was having a real good time being at work but maybe it was my haircut or something. thoroughly enjoyed this place and will return. thanks Gus's

It was average. Baby back Ribs decent, but a but dry. The sauce us not our style, we like a little sweeter. We had 5:30 rez, it was only 30-40% full when we came in. Hostess went to seat us in front by window where evening sun would soon be coming through at eye level, so we asked if it could be out of the sun. The more original front part of the restaurant had ALL of its cute little 2-person booths available, but she walked us back and back to the furthest plain, no personality area next to where the kitchen is with the big neon cocktails sign is. No one else back there yet...but very noisy as on other side of wall was the packed bar area and happy hour had just ended. I guess I could have insisted on a third table choice, but I already felt like we were a bother to her. It tainted our experience from the start. It got louder and louder as it got filled as ours was the only 2 person table and everything else was for tables for six. When we went to leave, the cute front tables were STILL empty. The waitress we had was nice, but overworked, she had too many tables so things took longer the more tables she got. So it was average. Nothing for us to come back for. Not great, not bad.

Gus’s staff, service and food is always top notch! While I take my family there quite frequently - it’s also a location when I have business events, I bring them here as well. To date everyone has enjoyed the restaurant and as agree with my upfront statement that everything on the menu is great.
