Our team can stay to take care of set up, cleanup, and everything in between, working hard to ensure that you and your guests are able to sit back and enjoy a no-fuss gathering filled with fresh and delicious BBQ! Whether we are celebrating your big day or catering your office party we strive to bring a touch of Southern Hospitality to any event through a collaborative process that accommodates each event’s unique needs. This visit was like our previous visits, outstanding. If you visit on the weekend I strongly recommend the chicken and waffles.

When we arrived at Gus’s, I was asked if I wanted to sit indoors or outside. I was surprised because I chose an indoor table due to the excessive heat. I let the hostess know I chose an indoor table on Open Table specifically due to the weather. With attitude, she said there was NO indication of this. She then told me that I would not be seated on time because all of the tables were taken inside. After letting her know that we would have one less person, she said that would help. If I choose an indoor table on open table, can the restaurant see this? We eventually were sat indoors. The AC was not good! The poor workers! Get that remedied! The drinks were great! I ordered a hibiscus margarita. The food was on point. The sausages are still my favorite. Service was a bit slow to get refills and other more drinks. Otherwise… great night!

This was our first time at Gus’ in Claremont and we found it really enjoyable. Parking was easy, there is a structure adjacent to the restaurant. We were extremely fortunate and had terrific parking karma. We had an indoor reservation on one of the hottest days of the year, and were seated immediately. Service was phenomenal, getting drinks almost as soon as we sat. Our server, TJ (sorry he had an initialed name, and he only said it once) was the best! Although we have been to the OG South Pas location, we took recommendations from him and enjoyed everything! We were also served by Kelly, who was extremely diligent while TJ (I seriously hope that’s his name) was on break. There were 5 of us, we ordered the bread, which was yummy, loaded potato, two types of meat-with ribs, pulled pork sandwich (this was a little small) the spicy fried chicken ( which is really, Really, REALLY spicy), and a 7oz pulled pork (the brisket was actually sent, my nephew loved this - and he is a picky eater, so he didn’t send it back). The creamed corn was amazing and the garlic mashed potatoes were a hit, although they had the consistency of the just add water version. We asked for dessert recommendations, and the butter cake that TJ recommended was fantastic, with blueberries, toffee ice cream and a mint garnish. My nephew got the s’mores brownie which was also awesome.

I grew up dining at Gus's BBQ in South Pasadena, so I was really happy to hear that their operation has expanded! I was meeting a friend who lives in Riverside, and the Claremont location is just about halfway between us. We dined outside on the patio, and our server, Alicia, was very attentive and checked on us often. Their BBQ Chicken Sandwich is a favorite of mine and what I always order when I dine at the South Pasadena location. Claremont's version was every bit as good! I also love that the prices are not outrageous and fall within my entertainment budget. I will be back!
