Since 1946, Gus’s has been serving true Southern hospitality and some of the best real pit BBQ around. Housed in the iconic Claremont Packing House, Gus’s is a tribute to Southern life, where family, tradition and celebration are of the utmost importance. Let us know a day and time you would like your items ready, and we will have your order packed to pick up from the restaurant, or we can deliver everything to you. Our team can stay to take care of set up, cleanup, and everything in between, working hard to ensure that you and your guests are able to sit back and enjoy a no-fuss gathering filled with fresh and delicious BBQ! Whether we are celebrating your big day or catering your office party we strive to bring a touch of Southern Hospitality to any event through a collaborative process that accommodates each event’s unique needs. This is our favorite BBQ place! Food is consistently good, service is spectacular (shout out to Jeanette who always takes great care of us) and the ambience is lovely.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. From the salad with salmon, the tacos, the hamburgers and the smoked turkey sandwich all were truly delicious! Service was exceptional!

I didn’t have any BBQ so I can’t review that. I had the Gumbo which was not good, I didn’t care for the cornbread and the sausage was just ok The service was great very attentive and the atmosphere is good for large parties

The menu is varied and has lots of choices, leaning towards Southern food. I ordered the southern fried chicken and while it looked like a very large piece of chicken breast it was mostly batter and salty. The service was okay but it would have been nicer if the waiter had come buy a lot sooner but he did notice we were celebrating an occasion because I had a gift on the table and he brought us some ice cream Sunday. We were celebrating our anniversary so that was a nice touch touch.

This is one of the regular places my family and I dine. I love their old fashioned cocktails. They make it correctly and you can choose whatever whiskey you like. Today, I shared onion strings with my family. I ate catfish and chips for the entree. Cooked to perfection. We’ll be back.

Food, beverages, and service were outstanding. High quality ingredients were carefully prepared and served at the right temperature. Server was pleasant and careful to listen to requests and fulfill them.

We really enjoyed our weekend lunch here. Andy was our server. He did a great job! He was very attentive and checked on us several times to refill drinks, etc. We ordered the sliders, which were filling and the fried onion strings were a nice touch. They have four very different types of BBQ sauce, so there’s something for everyone. The Texas Queso appetizer was yummy and has a nice kick to it. I also ordered a side of their cream corn. When I asked Andy about it, he said it was one of his favorite sides. It reminded me exactly of my grandma’s recipe, which I haven’t been able to enjoy in years. ( Keep in mind it’s true Southern style cream corn and quite sweet, in case sweet corn’s not your thing). I had planned to save some to take home. That plan failed miserably. But we will be back soon for more & to try the brisket!
