Located at the scenic East Passage Yachting Center in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, The Gulf Stream Bar and Grille focuses on creating a comfortable, friendly dining experience. The main dining room, indoor bar and dog-friendly outdoor deck and bar provide stunning sunset and water views.
The Gulf Stream Bar and Grille’s creative menu offers coastal cooking with a New England Twist - taking delicious recipes from regions along the Gulf Stream, adding our own New England style and offering them to you. We use only the highest quality products, locally sourced and organic when possible. All of our dishes are house-made with the freshest ingredients and we proudly support our local farmers and fishermen.
We are housed in an original Quonset Hut, built in 1942 as part of the US Navy’s PT-Boat Training Center at Melville. The space was converted into a restaurant over 30 years ago and began operation as The Gulf Stream Bar and Grille in May 2016.

Great food, friendly staff. Value plus! Always nice to visit the Gulf Stream. Wish they would stay open during the fall and winter.

We had not been to Gulfstream. Last visit it was the Melville Grill. Gulfstream was top notch! Had a Sunday brunch sitting on the deck, couldn’t have asked for anything better. We ordered fish & chips, salmon sandwich on the brunch menu, calamari and stuffed clams. Great Bloody Mary mix too.

The service and food were very good, especially the fish and chips. Parking was a bit of a problem as there were no spaces in the lot but it worked out.

Love the mix of the menu. Unique dishes beautifully plated. So many flavors with a Caribbean flair. Ashley is amazing too!

The lobster roll is delicious. Highly recommend the peanut butter mudslides! The server, Bliss was awesome.

We totally enjoyed our lunch there. We love the menu options. The food was delicious. Our group especially enjoyed the rum flights. They have an exceptional list of liquors… something for everyone. The bourbon chocolate pecan pie was to die for!

Great place away from crowds in Newport. Always welcoming with our pup and great lobster rolls. Hasn’t disappointed in the many times we’ve been. Recommended!

The crew was very accommodating to our late arrival. We chose to eat inside and it was cool and quiet. Great service by Cassie, all our food was delicious and the peanut butter mudslide was amazing.
