What would a multi-course plated beer dinner look like in 1910 when Guinness first came to our City of Chicago? Join us at the Guinness OGB Chicago for a pre-fixe dinner expertly curated by our brewing and culinary teams to find out. This is a table in our private dining space, The Barrel Room. Each ticket is $99, with tax and gratuity. Liz Garibay from the Beer Culture Center will be walking us through the history of beer in Chicago with assistance from our National Guinness Ambassador, Ryan Wagner, to discuss how Guinness and Open Gate Brewery fit into that picture. Choose any time frame that is available to purchase your ticket; Event begins promptly at 6pm

The food was very mediocre and disappointing. This was my second time going to OGB, and the first time was such a fantastic experience, I knew I had to come back. I’m not sure if the recipes have changed since last October, but the bread was incredibly dry, as was the pretzel. The pretzel really had no flavor. And the butter for the bread was not the same as last time - this one was flavorless and had an odd consistency. The pretzel was greasy and below average, and the beef stew was also pretty dried out. Unfortunately I don’t believe I’ll be returning for this food. My beer cocktail was great, but knowing I can get a beer cocktail many other places in Chicago with great food, I would not go out of my way to go here again. On an ambiance note, the restaurant was also incredibly loud and we couldn’t really hold a great conversation. That being said, it WAS a Saturday on a holiday weekend, so we were expecting it to be busy. The staff seated us very quickly and had great service. However, if you’re looking for a place to sort of be relaxed and make small talk and hang out, this might not be the place for you. Also if you’re looking for a place to sit outdoors in the sun, OGB sits on the wrong side of the shade, so shade enters their patio around 11a/12p, making for a slightly chillier experience.

Enjoyed lunch with the family. Food was so good! Of course the Guinness Stout was on point!

Our experience at Guinness was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed, and that feeling stayed with us until we left. Although there was a mix-up in the kitchen, our server, Jose, and the Manager, Josh, went above and beyond to resolve the issue, leaving us pleasantly surprised. Their dedication to customer service truly elevated our experience. The food was absolutely delicious, you seriously need to try the burger! We were there for the Guinness, but they had different options even if Guinness is not your thing. Thank you, Jose, Josh, and the entire Guinness team, for an exceptional dining experience. We will definitely be returning for more!

Sitting down and asking for a credit card to begin with felt rude. Went at 3pm and couldn’t choose from three lunch menu instead had dinner. The burgers were burnt to a crisp but the fries were tasty. Just came back from Ireland and had many Guinness beers with high hopes for Gateway. They wash the glasses with water and it’s seems to impact their flavor making it taste more watered down. So bummed.

Varied menu including some elevated bar food along with a couple of interesting entrees including a coconut curry and steak frites. Great beer choices consisting of Guinness products brewed in Ireland as well as other beer styles brewed at this site. Large outdoor seating area that is dog-friendly, and Guinness store too.
