Grow is hidden haven in Hackney Wick with a heated and covered terrace next to the River Lea. The menu is inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on sustainability. Our menu is primarily plant-led but we also offer ethically sourced meat options.

As well as being a cosy spot for brunch, lunch, coffee and chat, you can expect a broad range of live music & performances on weekday evenings and DJ led events on the weekends. Whatever you’re after, Grow provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of busy city life.

    Jazz Nights at Grow! Every Thursday, with Stratos, led by Mercury Prize nominee Rio Kai, enchant you with an eclectic mix of jazz. This experience will guarantee you a seat for 1st set only and an entry fee for the whole night. Inside set seats are open for everyone. Outside by canal 19:15 - 20:45 followed by inside Jazz Jam 21:15 - 22:30. Happy Hour is from 17:00 - 19:00, Wednesday to Friday, featuring organic wines and signature cocktails. Indulge in summer cocktails and Middle Eastern cuisine. Our kitchen serves a variety of dishes until 21:00, and the bar remains open until 23:45. For more information, check our FAQs online. About artists: St. Barbe Blending jazz, rock, and electronic music, St. Barbe crafts a sound rich with improvisation, ethereal textures, and complex rhythms. They debuted in 2021 with the E.P "Shapeless," acclaimed on Spotify’s jazz playlists and Guitar Magazine. In 2022, they supported Mike Stern at London's Jazz Cafe and toured the UK, including Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Their singles "Tellicherry" and "Noumena" surpassed half a million streams, securing their innovative sound. Dennis Chambers praised their outstanding live performance.

          My experience at your Hidden Literature night was great, however, I did get the feeling that you weren't used to people in wheelchairs wanting to perform. There was quite a hassle setting the mic up for me off stage and I felt a little embarrassed sitting in front of everyone waiting for them to figure it out. This happened even after I called ahead and was reassured of the accessibility of the venue. But accessibility isn't just a space where wheelchair-users can enter the building and only watch everyone else perform - accessibility is a place where they can perform and participate too. And I feel as if Grow, Hackney wasn't prepared for that part of accessibility. It was still a great night which I highly enjoyed though.

          Really loved our Sunday Bowl lunch here. The food was great, the beer excellent and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The music was very very loud at one point but we were sitting close to the speakers - they turned it down a little for us. I think I'd recommend sitting further away from the sound system if possible next time - especially for eating and talking but we will definitely be back.

          I recently dined at a restaurant I booked through OpenTable, and I'm compelled to share my exceptional experience. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the live jazz performance. It was simply amazing – a perfect blend of soulful melodies and energetic rhythms that created a lively yet intimate atmosphere. The menu, though simple, offered an impressive variety of dishes. Each item we ordered was a delightful surprise, showcasing the chef's talent for turning classic ingredients into culinary masterpieces. The flavors were balanced, the presentation was elegant, and the portions were satisfying. The staff deserves a special mention for their attentive and friendly service, adding to the overall pleasant ambiance of the place. A word of advice to potential visitors: do make sure to book in advance. This spot is a popular one, and rightfully so. Its combination of fantastic live jazz, scrumptious food, and a welcoming environment makes it a must-visit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
