Food presentation was lovely, service was fabulous but my 'black pudding bon bon' was missing and the cauliflower cheese was awful - very gloopy . Really enjoyed our visit despite this and will return again.

Was returning after some years. A little disappointed in menu, there being very little meat choice though we all found the individual choices we made were fine. One of our party did raise a complaint regarding “his greens” Our overall reaction place was the same including a member of staff but the menu was not as extensive as previously.

Efficient, friendly, good value. Some welcome variations from the average pub menu but a little bit lacking in choice for a devout carnivore.

The food was absolutely lovely and reasonably priced. Large portions and the children’s portions were large too. The drinks were very reasonable. Table was maybe a little small to comfortably fit 3 adults on one side but otherwise we all had a lovely experience at the grouse and ale.

An extremely welcome. friendly place. The people working there are efficient and charming. The fish and chips is the best I've had - and I've had a lot. This is a very special pub.

We had a lovely meal, which we thoroughly enjoyed 😉 The atmosphere was quiet which was purrfect for chatting. Our waitress was enthusiastic and friendly and made us feel most welcome and valued. Our food was cooked to perfection and was lovely and hot. The choices were varied and different from the run of the mill. We had squid and pork terrine to start followed by fish and chips and a chicken dish. All were well presented and looked as tasty as it was to eat. Lots if parking. We will definitely go again. A special thank you to our waitress and the chef x
