Quietest we have ever known it. Pub lunches have become far too expensive. Our one course lunch with a couple of drinks was almost £100 and that explains why there were so few diners.

Hi i really cant see you paid that i have checked our system and it shows nothing even near that amount for two people on what your saying - maybe we made an error on your bill or is this the correct pub as we are far from quiet? - yes you could spend £100 on two steaks sauces onion rings then pick the most expensive wine - but we feel we do accommodate for all dinners on the menu at reasonable prices - but please contact us to double check your bill maybe?

Outstanding all round, staff could not have been more helpful. Food was lovely and arrived at just the right time.

Four meals ordered. 3 meals were nice. However the scallops on the 4th meal were totally over cooked. Dry and tough. The chef should have known how to cook them and obviously a pricey dish should not have been ruined!

I am really sorry that your husband didn’t like his scallops but the whole reason we do check back is so we can correct any errors immediately! and if your husband had of said we could of made him some more straight away as they do only take minutes, I also think your being unfair to my chef that you didn’t say anything at the time, we are all human and yes we get things wrong sometimes but we will always put things right if we are told at the time, I think its irrelevant that you was with friends or not.

Staff were very friendly and dealt with an issue that I raised to do with the other clientele very quickly. This was much appreciated.

We had another Roast dinner today it was delicious. Husband had Pork and I had Chicken, we both said how good it was. The pork had crackling which was crispy and very tasty and husband said it had to have been the best he’s ever had. We had smaller portions today so that we could manage a starter and desert. We had the homemade bread for starters which was simply delicious. For our deserts we had butterscotch crème brûlée and the trifle and I have never had a better trifle than that one it was so good. Husband didn’t speak throughout his desert apart from making yummy noises !!!!

Excellent halfway stop for Fathers Day lunch on our way from Cornwall to London! Lovely pub, ambience, service, staff were very attentive, and the food was excellent, plentiful and at a fair price! They phoned the day before to make sure we’d get our choice of roast meat/ nut roast, as it was Fathers Day and we had a later booking! Definitely be visiting again on our travels to the south west… highly recommend!

lovely atmosphere staff pleasant and very helpful .good menu with G/F clearly marked. all guest enjoyed their meals.highly recommend.

Food is always fantastic, and it's great to have so many gluten free options. Can't fault the staff service or the warm welcome and the sincere thank you and goodbye on the way out! Customer service at its best, that's What we love from independent businesses.

Beautifully served meal, tender chicken and good sized portions. Lovely cosy feel to the restaurant. A perfect venue to catch up with old Friends. Attentive staff but no rushing. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
