Friendly welcome, nice landlady, cheerful staff, good food, (we had cured cod starter and lamb duo main) absolutely delicious. Good selection of wines, beers and spirits, plus a good range of non alcoholic drinks. We stayed all afternoon!

Had a gorgeous Sunday Roast with sticky toffee pudding to follow which was divine! Service was outstanding by everyone and they were all attentive, polite as well as professional. Thank you.

This is our usual place to take visiting family but never again. I tried to book a table of 10 for Sunday and was told tables of 10 are not allowed so I booked a table of 6 and my daughter booked a table of 4. When we arrived both tables were at each end of the restaurant so as there was an empty table near ours I asked if my daughter could be moved to there. I was told no we don’t change tables and I told you on the phone we don’t do tables of 10 rudely. Throughout lunch a dog continuously barked too. At the end of our meal I spoke with the owner who did not appear concerned about the customer service he said she thought you were trying to play the system. He justified her attitude to us. The table next to us was empty until just before left. His answer to the dog barking was this is a dog friendly pub. I said we are dog owners too and that’s lovely but surely a dog should be reasonably quiet do everyone could enjoy their meal. What shame it was one of our favourites - I wouldn’t recommend this place for a family group.

A pleasant & relaxed place to eat. Good service, food & ambience. Soup was much too hot - only problem.

I travel out from Exeter to eat here sometimes - the food and atmosphere is lovely. This time I was with a very pernickety friend who was suitably impressed - apart from the feeling that the waitress was a little curt - I think my friend was at fault there.

Well worth a visit. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. The food was the best I have had in quite a while. Will definitely be going back.
