Experience the freshest family favorites in Uptown Gig Harbor at the Greenhouse restaurant. This casual, family-friendly eatery features seasonal menus, bursting with local produce, seafood and spirits. Helmed by renowned chef Erik Smith, each dish is created to order, using responsibly, locally sourced ingredients, artfully prepared and plated in an elegant, inviting ambience.

Greenhouse features full lunch and dinner menus, as well as appetizers, small and large bites and decadent desserts that change daily. It also offers a special Twilight Menu, with three-course meals ranging from light to hearty fare, and a Happy Hour menu that is featured in the bar. The extensive wine and beer list also changes daily, spotlighting local microbreweries and wineries, as well as perennial favorites that pair perfectly with the menu options. Greenhouse is open for lunch and dinner; information about private bookings for parties, meetings, receptions and corporate events is available on request.

I wanted a lovely birthday dinner for my wife, also attended by our granddaughter. Green House came through. Our server, Cathy, was attentive and a delight. The meal was delicious start to finish and - at $200 before tip and including drinks - considering the quality, reasonably priced. My wife had a delicious and properly grilled steak, the young'un loved her serving of cod and for the first time there I had the entree serving of salad, topped with salmon. Excellent! The women enjoyed their dessert of bread pudding. Believing "good bread pudding" is an oxymoron, I just enjoyed watching them. My wife's dessert came with a wee birthday candle in it - a thoughtful touch. We've been to Green House a bunch of times, and whether special occasion or just a fun meal out it's always a joy.

I dined at the outside patio, so a lot of noise from kids screaming or some weirdo with a strange modification to their truck that they have to show off. Now, the food... for a medium heat meal, the lamb was over done. But, the flavor of the meat compensated nicely. The mashed potatoes were perfect as the bed for the lamb. The asparagus is asparagus... it's a delicious, but lazy vegetable. The salad: spinach, beets, and goat cheese salad This exactly what should come out of the kitchen. Nicely prepared, the presentation made the salad appealing. The candied walnuts were delicious! Dessert: I opted for the Apple Pie bread pudding, a la mode. This is a risky choice, because I have not had a good bread pudding. Your bread pudding changed that. It was delicious, the texture was right, the flavors paired wonderfully to each other. The old fashioned was very good and the merlot was a perfect pairing with the lamb. Now, the important part... welcoming the customer. I have felt this was the one part of The Greenhouse where they failed. The hostess and the wait staff were rude and unwelcoming. It is the very reason I made no effort to dine at the restaurant. Congratulations, you got rid of the garbage and you have absolute gems working for you. The were some of the most welcoming and nicest people.

My wife and I ate on the patio and the ambiance was excellent! It wasn't crowded, although there were a few other tables occupied at the time. The wait staff was kind, courteous, and prompt. The food was FANTASTIC. My wife and I both ordered salad (she got the chicken cobb and I got the flank steak bleu cheese). My wife said that was the best cobb salad she's had anywhere in Gig Harbor (she ALWAYS orders a chicken cobb salad so that's high praise from her). My steak was cooked exactly as I asked, the salad was well put together. The lettuce was crunchy (and no giant white stem pieces) the onions were flavorful but not overly sharp, and the dressing was perfect. I HIGHLY recommend!

Our first visit to the Green house restaurant and we enjoyed the experience. Excellent food, great service (Darcy) and a nice quiet atmosphere, we will be back.

My girlfriend Teri was totally surprised when she opened the mysterious card that was on the table telling her how awesome she is! The option on my reservation for "Special requests?" absolutely made our art reception night at the Meritime Museum amazing!!! Thanks Ryan!!!
