The Greenhead Hotel was taken over in June 2020 by local proprietor Jordan Dodwell & his partner Anna Pearson. After a complete refurb they opened the doors on the 14th August 2020.

Head Chef, Dan, & his young, eager team use the finest ingredients available using local butchers, suppliers and even forage in the nearby woodland. During the shooting season we source game from the local shoot which features on our specials board.

Situated on the Northumberland and Cumbrian border, with Hadrian's wall on our doorstep, the hotel offers a cosy drinking area with locally sourced ale, a chic restaurant serving homemade classic pub food with a modern twist and 7 newly refurbished dog friendly en-suite guest bedrooms, alongside a 45 bed Hostel, providing the perfect base for your trip.

Always enjoy eating here - lovely food, relaxed atmosphere, in a beautiful part of the world. Also has an good vegetarian/vegan selection

It was our second visit to The Greenhead Hotel. The food was amazing really delicious. The service was excellent the staff are really friendly definitely one of our favourite places can't wait to return

We come from Newcastle to meet up with friends from Scotland and everything about this place suits us nicely. My cheese souffle was gorgeous, as ever, and my two kinds of lamb was spot on (the extra side dish of onion rings embellished beautifully). Choice of 3 local ales as well as usual suspects was a bonus. Great place.

Really enjoyed our meal all three courses! The staff were lovely and the quality of the food was really good was such good value too, would definitely come back and definitely recommend it .

I ordered the Fish and Chips. A massive battered cod arrived covering a large portion of proper chips. I live mushy peas though and I never understand why they get served in a tiny little bowl. The cod was exceptional though. I turned down the dessert menu as I thought the prices were a little high.

We very much enjoyed our meal at the Greenhead Hotel Inn with family and friends. Charlotte and other staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and it was the second time we had eaten there recently. We were very impressed with the friendliness and efficiency of all the staff. We look forward to eating here again, hopefully very soon! (We also recommend the Greenhead Hotel Inn to our guests at our nearby business, Hadrians Holiday Lodges. Everyone comes back happy which is lovely to hear.) Many thanks again for a pleasurable evening from Catherine, Nigel, family and friends.

Service was fast & efficient, the staff were very pleasant and helpful we had the Sunday lunch & it did not disappoint. I would highly recommend a visit.
