The Greenhead Hotel was taken over in June 2020 by local proprietor Jordan Dodwell & his partner Anna Pearson. After a complete refurb they opened the doors on the 14th August 2020.

Head Chef, Dan, & his young, eager team use the finest ingredients available using local butchers, suppliers and even forage in the nearby woodland. During the shooting season we source game from the local shoot which features on our specials board.

Situated on the Northumberland and Cumbrian border, with Hadrian's wall on our doorstep, the hotel offers a cosy drinking area with locally sourced ale, a chic restaurant serving homemade classic pub food with a modern twist and 7 newly refurbished dog friendly en-suite guest bedrooms, alongside a 45 bed Hostel, providing the perfect base for your trip.

8oz Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Hand cut chips were lush. All finished of with a delicious wine of our choice. Service and mannerism was excellent and friendly.

This is a charming village pub and hotel. The staff are excellent in particular the girl who served us on Monday and Tuesday. She had even remembered what we had ordered the night before. Not sure of her name . Food is fabulous especially the sticky toffee pudding which is the best I have tasted. Loved the chicken schnitzel and the warm bread brought to the table before the starters was a very pleasant surprise and extremely good. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

Excellent service from friendly staff. Food very good. Tasty and well cooked. The warm bread was particularly welcome at the beginning of our meal.

Food as always very good. Just one minor quibble. We ordered bottle of white wine which was delivered to table in cooler - however the bottle had not been in fridge beforehand. It would have been better to have told us this and we would have left in table cooler for it to cool down before pouring (or better still white wines should have been cooled beforehand!).
