Located at 9 Kensington Square, London, a short stroll from Hyde Park, Grato is a chic Italian restaurant. With a focus on regional cuisine and the freshest ingredients, every dish is imbued with culture. Our handmade pasta is crafted with love in our very own kitchen; our wines are sourced from artisan vineyards. Our evolving menus reflect the seasons and celebrate Italy’s culinary wonders.
Dine on the ground floor overlooking one of London's oldest garden squares or you can dine alfresco facing the lush square. At the lower level is another dining room reminiscent of an Italian wine grotto - the perfect space for a celebration.

We accept all credit cards (no AMEX) & cash.Our outdoor tables are timed for 1.5hr to allow other guests to enjoy al fresco. We cannot always guarantee a seat of your choice. Thank you

Grato is one of our favourite Italian restaurant. The owner, Peter and Uriel and Nyeri (who works there always give a warm welcome. The food is great as well as the service. Their ravioli is to die for.. Thank you all.

Staff were lovely, food was amazing, really reasonable price. We had their wine of the month which was incredible and well priced. Really cute little place perfect for date night or intimate family gatherings

A lovely cosy restaurant with attentive staff. We went in the evening and it was busy and consequently quite noisy. Not that it spoilt our evening! The menu was small but there are daily specials which we enjoyed. They even produced a piece of cake for the birthday celebration. Would definitely recommend to others as long as you arent looking for a quiet evening

Truly excellent service. The staff were so attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed and topping up our water glasses regularly. The restaurant was very accommodating with my allergies. The food was delicious. The restaurant had a lovely calming atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back again! Thank you Grato staff!

Best Italian food I've had in London for many a year. Menu has loads of great and diverse choices. Very friendly service. Nice buzz in the restaurant.

Wonderful small restaurant. Food was perfect as was warm and attentive service. Everything we had was delicious from appetizers to main course. Lucky to be there for fresh truffle season and have their special pasta and truffle main dish. Had the pumpkin ravioli which was also special. Tiramisu was among best and the dark chocolate gelato was superb.

What a great little find! Such a quaint restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The quality of the food was outstanding.

Excellent !!! Although…. Despite being fast eaters we felt hosts rushed us due to walk ins waiting. Rushed dinner is not very Italian but we understand the desire not to turn people away. Maybe a looser booked schedule to allow more time. But I repeat … excellent!

This was our second visit to Grato in as many years while in London on holiday, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is so lovely and welcoming—we were greeted by the owner at the door like old friends and the staff immediately offered up some kid-friendly entrees while the adults in our party chose some wine. The waitstaff was knowledgeable, friendly, and warm, and made us feel like family. The food was—without exaggeration—some of the best, most fresh Italian I’ve ever had. The pumpkin ravioli was to DIE for and the orange polenta cake was exquisite. We will definitely be back.
