Located at 9 Kensington Square, London, a short stroll from Hyde Park, Grato is a chic Italian restaurant. With a focus on regional cuisine and the freshest ingredients, every dish is imbued with culture. Our handmade pasta is crafted with love in our very own kitchen; our wines are sourced from artisan vineyards. Our evolving menus reflect the seasons and celebrate Italy’s culinary wonders. Sample handmade Pumpkin Ravioli, Fresh Tagliolini with Brixham Crabmeat or the very popular Handmade Malfatti; Indulge in our seasonal Asparagus with Parmigiano Fonduta, Veal Scaloppine, Vanilla Panna Cotta with Pistacchio & Maraschino Cherries. Grato's classic tiramisu is irresistible!!
Dine on the ground floor overlooking one of London's oldest garden squares or you can dine alfresco facing the lush square. At the lower level is another dining room reminiscent of an Italian wine grotto - the perfect space for a celebration.

Al fresco dining on a balmy evening at its best - a hidden gem - top quality local modern Italian - short menu but everything is prepared to perfection. Run by really friendly husband and wife team.

Delicious food but was pushed off our table after 90 minutes. We were there to celebrate but left a little deflated after given out marching order by staff

Thank you for your review. Our outdoor tables are limited hence timed for 90 minutes to allow other guests who were waiting to enjoy al fresco dining. Thank you for your understanding.

Absolutely worst service in London, we were kicked out of terrace after 50 min sitting there. Although food is amazing, service is absolutely horrendous p.s. my friend arrived at 6:50 for a booking scheduled at 7:00, and the first thing she was asked was, “When is your friend (myself) coming? If she is not here in 10 minutes, we will move you inside, because you can’t sit on your own outside.” This is not the kind of service you would expect at the very beginning of your visit. I arrived at 7:05, just five minutes after the booking time. At 7:50, we were presented with the bill despite not having asked for it. This was frustrating, especially since we were seated for only an hour, even though the table was supposedly reserved for 1.5 hours (it’s not even stated anywhere). Throughout our entire time there, we felt rushed and pressured, which completely ruined our experience. We came to have a relaxing dinner and drinks, not to be hurried constantly. To make matters worse, the staff falsely claims now we arrived at 6:30. Our booking was for 7:00, and my friend arrived at 6:50. If the restaurant was as busy as they claimed, they wouldn’t have seated her before the reservation time?! This is dishonest and unacceptable, please stop. Just acknowledge the fact that you were wrong and you have provided bad service, full stop. The service we received was the worst we have experienced in London and we have been to many places across the city. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. Avoid it if you want to have a pleasant dining experience.

You were seated at the table for 1.5hr, you may have forgotten one of you arrived half hour early and was immediately seated at the table. Our al fresco tables are very much in demand and are timed for 1.5hr - we had booked guests waiting for outdoor tables!!

We are new to the neighbourhood and loved finding out about Grato. Attentive service with a good menu selection. The truffle pasta paired up with the Hugo spritz was divine. Can't wait to be back!

Slightly chaotic when we first arrived but once seated excellent service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend for the lively atmosphere and attentive service!

We love going to Grato. It's one of our favourite restaurant. We always have a warm welcome from Peter, the owner and Uriel, who works there. The food, the service and the ambience is all great.
