We've eaten at Grano Arso countless times and have never had a bad experience. The food is outstanding, as is the professional but warm service. The bartender mixes wonderful cocktails, and the decor is comfortable and welcoming. This has become our go-to for special occasions and anytime we want to treat ourselves well and spend an evening in the lovely village of Chester.

This was our 3rs time there (first time sitting in the back vault room and it was a quieter which was nice as we were with my elderly mom). The food & service were outstanding. Has definitely become a favorite even though it's 40 minutes from our house. Highly highly recommend!

Highly recommend Grano Arso. The food was delicious. The home baked bread was crisp and soft on the inside. Salads are of a generous proportion. The dishes were flavorful. The service was exceptional.

This restaurant is one of our favorite places in all of CT! Last night, to celebrate our 10 year anniversary of our engagement, we chose to take the 50 minute drive from home, knowing our experience would be exceptional and we would be treated & celebrated like family. We were seated in Cassie's section and she is just phenomenal. She makes our dining experience delightful. We wanted everything on the menu but decided to do the Trattoria menu which is an unbelievable 3 courses for $39. We started with the complimentary house-made bread & butter (yes, you read that right, complimentary!). The salted butter is devine. Then we had the Pastina in Brodo & the Carrozza to start, then the Pork Milanaise, and the Zeppole and Coconut Tiramisu for dessert. The Pastina was hearty and velvety with a little citrus for balance. I couldn't stop eating it! The Carozza was so light with just the right amount of pesto and it was on top of this pillowy house-made whipped honey ricotta that made me want to lick the plate! The pork was crispy and light and the tomato/cucumber salad added just the right acidity to balance the well seasoned breaded pork. And even though we were a bit stuffed, we finished with dessert. The coconut tiramisu was sweet & soft with crunchy coconut flakes on top. And that zeppole was amazing. It was light and airy with a slight chew and loaded with a perfect not-to-sweet chocolate cream. Wow! We are so grateful for our evening. We highly recommend a visit to Grano Arso and to experience these amazing creations by Chef Joel and his wonderful staff.

As always, a great evening shared with out of state guests. A special place that helps make Chester a destination for many and home for others.

Once again Grano Arso has outdone themselves! We went for to enjoy the Trattoria menu and it was outstanding!! Can’t wait to go back for another visit!!!

We had a wonderful meal at Grano Arso last evening. One of our party ordered the trattoria menu and he ordered the pastina in brodo, the sea bass and the coconut tiramisu. Every dish was amazing, especially the pastina. I had the sweet corn agnolotti which was a superb way to showcase seasonal corn from a local farm, and the others had the rye tagliatelle and rigatoni bolognese, both delicious. The staff was very attentive and accommodating and the ambiance was chic/sophisticated. We loved it and will come back.

The cuisine, from their Italian regular menu or the recent "pop-up" French or Vietnamese dinners Joel and Lani create are as good as anything weve had in any New England restaurant. Wes's bar drinks and wine selections match the cuisine's quality as well. The wait staff isexceptional. We highly recommend the chef tasting with the wine pairing. The converted bank decor is warm, its usually very busy but not loud, and theres a lot of friendly "cross table'" conversations between foodies over the presentations. Our only issue is the I95 drive from Milford to Chester to reach food nirvanna.
