Gran Caffe was lovely. Except we had to wait over 15 mins for our reserved 8 pm table. The owner comped up a glass of Prosecco, which was a help... Our dinner was quite scrumptious, the server was terrific too. It was my husband's birthday, and they sang a verse in Italiano for us ! The 'restaurant week' offer was a great value, and we would return, should the place offer this special again.. its also conveniently located to where we live. Overall - a great experience.

We had a very nice time. The wait staff all worked together, which was very nice. Our waiter was a native Italian, so his recommendations were spot on. We enjoyed restaurant week and will definitely go back at other times.

I have enjoyed the gelato at Gran Caffe L'Aquila for years. As the restaurant was participating in Restaurant Week, I took advantage of the promotion. My dining partner (who had just returned from Italy) and I enjoyed the buffalo mozzarella, bruschetta, roasted chicken, tripe in tomato sauce, bucatani pasta, and the gelato. Every course was amazing and delicious. The employees were friendly, helpful, and provided excellent service. Gran Caffe L'Aquila is the closest thing to Italy in Philadelphia.

I just cannot tell everyone the level of service and quality of the food that we experienced yesterday. The front check-in staff could have not been more helpful as I had requested a table close to the entrance because I was bringing a 97 year old person for her birthday and her walking is not that great. When we got there, the table was ready and they sat us right away. Our server was so attentive and went way beyond expectations. He clearly explained our questions regarding the menu and checked on a regular basis through out the meal if we needed anything. My linguini in an Alfredo sauce with peas and meat was so flavorful and the portion was quite large so I took the leftovers home for dinner. Of course, the dark chocolate gelato for dessert put the perfect end to a wonderful meal and contributed to my 97 year old friend having a very successful birthday. Thank you.
