Situated on the main floor of the Gordon Hotel, The Gordon Tavern is an oasis of Americana. The modern decor with rustic undertones, features natural wood accents and serves as the perfect backdrop to a rich and clever menu of classic American comfort food with a northwest flair.

    Giovanna is an exceptional server. Travis was also very quick to assist. One of our new favorite places.

    The food was just ok. The lobster bisque was far from a bisque but rather a watered down broth and the bartender had no social skills whatsoever. He had no personality and quite frankly came across as rude as if we were a bother to him.

    We had a price fix New Year eve dinner at this restaurant that we’ve eaten at a number of times over the past few years. This 4 course meal was reasonably priced and frankly, one of our better meals at this venue. I had a sashimi tuna appetizer, lobster bisque as second course, surf and turf dinner and cheese cake dessert. My wife had mushroom bruschetta, Caesar salad, stuffed chicken breast and a chocolate cake. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Dinner was unrushed. Almost 2 hours from A to Z which was perfect for the event. We’ll be back.

    I ordered the surf and turf. Tje meat was so dese and hard that I was nable to cuts the steak with a steak knife. A check adjustment was lmade without incident. My wife's sea bass meal was delicious. For $69.99 I felt a decent piece of meat was forthcoming. We won't be freturning any time soon. At these prices we expected table cloths. We only rceived one fork for our salad, entre and dessert. At these prices we expected a salad fork, a dinner fork and a dessert fork. We were very disappointed with the overall experience.

    Our waitress was lovely, and the other employees getting plates etc were lovely as well and working very hard. My issue was the food. My steak, shrimp, and sauce was cold. Steak was overcooked and tough, and the Cesar salad had zero flavor. The dessert was some of the worst I’ve had at a nice restaurant.

    The wait staff was polite. Our dinner was a four course meal. My Caesar salad was good. It was not the best salad I have ever had. My wife's Lobster soup was luke warm. Both of our entries arrived luke warm. The mashed potatoes were not hot. Each of our steaks was undercooked and luke warm. The hottest item of the entire dinner was my chocolate dessert which arrived hot. My dessert was very good. My wife did not care for her dessert. All in all I wish we had eaten elsewhere. The wait times between courses was excessive. The food overall was average at best. The cost was expensive. My wife and I will not be back for this type meal at the Gordon Tavern again. On a side note we ate breakfast at the Gordon Tavern earlier in the day. Our server was attentive and personable. The food was good but not overly hot.

    The food was good but had to wait quite a while to be seated. The delivery for the entrees took 50 minutes and made the reservation 2 hours.

    The Salmon dinner is such a good deal on all levels. The Gordon Hotel has created a friendly, thoughtful, and casual dinner experience. Eugene needed this.
