Bienvenidos, y'all!

Inspired by long days on the Gulf, late nights on the ranch and the colorful creations of our abuela, our family's Kitchen & Cantina showcases the rich foods and traditions we grew up with on both sides of the border.

Nothing matches the flavor of food grilled over mesquite. Try wood-fired Texas quail swaddled in homemade tortillas, jalapeno rellanos stuffed with house-made chorizo and sizzling, family-style parrilladas - huge mixed platters of wild game and fresh vegetables, topped with pico de gallo and queso fresco - a unique spin on Houston barbeque.

Our days begin roasting chilies and tomatoes, rolling fresh tortillas in our bakery and wringing every last drop of Ruby Red grapefruit for cocktails. We hand-grind our own sausage and hand-trim every ounce of meat in our butchery, then anoint it with the savory seasonings and marinades we've honed over generations.

A few margaritas on our patio and you've found your new casa sweet casa.

We are frequent diners at this restaurant. We had the worst server I’ve ever had. It was my mother’s birthday and he didn’t even acknowledge it - only brought a dessert menu and then the dessert. He didn’t even say happy birthday. Dropped her dessert in front of her and walked off while we sang to her. He never once smiled and almost went out of his way to be rude. This is the first negative review I’ve ever left for any restaurant. The food was excellent, as usual, but our server needs another job. One that requires zero personality. We will return because of the food, but if given him as a server I will request another. I did tip 15% hoping maybe he just had a bad day, but he didn’t deserve it.

My favorite Mexican restaurant and a regular customer. The food is always good along with the service. Their "Damn Good Margarita" always satisfies. The tortilla chips are fresh and tasty along with the salsa served with them. Highly recommend.

Our server was fantastic!! Very attentive, even though he had a busy night. The beef tacos al carbon were tender and delicious, as always.

I rated service low but our waiter was fabulous. However, the “children” working the check in desk need additional training or, at the very least, ask their manager for assistance. Reservation at 7:45 pm and arrived early at 7:30. Didn’t expect the table to be ready and ordered drinks and queso at the bar (bar staff was also excellent.) I was told to return at 7:45 which I did and was told that the table we were waiting on had been there 5 hours (?? They arrived at 2:45) and they would text me when the table was ready. I waited another 10 minutes and went to the hostess and she said that they had another table for us and that they had paid. Another 15 minutes and the hostess showed me another table that would be ours since the other group wasn’t leaving. After another 10 minutes the hostess said they were pulling tables together for us (party of 6) and it would be just a minute. During that time I watched a party of 5 walk in and they were seated. As soon as that happened I went back to the hostess stand and she said they were ready for us. 8:31 pm. Imagine my surprise when I was seated at a table for 6. (Thought they were pulling tables together) We pounced on the waiter and ordered drinks and food since we had been there an hour. Drinks came quickly and food shortly thereafter. We ordered and ate and paid the bill in 42 minutes. No one ever said they were sorry for our wait. My family dined at this location as well as other Goode Co restaurants and this was so disappointing.
