It took 10 minutes to get spoons for the soup that was already on the table. We had to ask 3 times. The rest of the food arrived warm, not hot and was not anything to write home about. Its the same menu as Craft Kitchen in Danbury. The old Good News was amazing. This new place is incredibly disappointing. Certainly does not live up to the standard the old owners set.

With the change in ownership, this was a chance to reinvent themselves. The renovations are excellent and the place looks sharp, but they have the same menu overall with really nothing new in the last decade or two. They didn’t have any specials on a Friday night. Adult Lobster Mac is just a novelty at this point. It shouldn’t be what defines the Good News. There is incredible potential here, but they need a new menu with better dishes that stand out and make you want to come back. I love the setting, but it’s not enough by itself.

Delicious and wonderful. We were a group of 4 forty something’s on a high school reunion dinner. We knew we’d be loud so when brought into the quiet dining room we requested to go outside- it was no problem and it was perfect! Food was delicious (filet mignon, lobster Mac and cheese, short ribs, and baby gem salad) top notch!

Entrees were very good but their flourless chocolate cake with ganache was very, very dry & tasteless. Waitress was very attentive.

We loved our perfect server, Phoebe! Seating was prompt, courteous, and comfortable. Menu had a good array of smalls and larger meals. The raw oysters were fresh and delicious with a nice mignonette sauce. Sandwich of filet tips was large enough for 2 so half came home. Grilled octopus lacked some char but was tender and delicious. Looking forward to exploring the whole menu!

Pleasantly surprise with good news 2.0, great decor and even a better menu and food the service was very friendly, restaurant was very busy for lunch, always a good sign

Wow! I’ve been excited to see the changes since Good News changed owners and all I can say is I’m blown away. It’s like I walked into a European cafe in Sweden. My party was very nicely greeted and promptly sat, our server was so sweet and very knowledgeable. She was very helpful with my husbands food allergies. The menu was very nice, lots of different options and it was nice to see they still had some of the original Good News dishes we loved. We had the burrata starter and it was so good, I had the short ribs and all I can say was it was heaven. I’m so excited to have Good News back and running again and all I can say are the changes are fantastic and I cannot wait to bring my friends next time to sit at that beautiful bar!

Amazing food and service, the renovation is a major improvement from the old restaurant and so is the food. Will be back!

After being closed for renovations and reopening under new ownership, I must say that Good News Restaurant keeps delivering the goods. The space has been transformed to this beautiful open airy space, with a beautiful elegant design. The service was outstanding our server recognizes us from when we dine the last night they were open before it changed ownership. Sarah our server was gracious and kind and very accommodating to our requests. The food is delicious, everything we order was so fresh and made to perfection. We are already planning our next visit.

This was our first visit since reopening under new management and my wife and I felt a definite improvement. We sat inside but there is a lot of patio seating available as well. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, no issues. We had a delicious cranberry/apple/pecan salad to start. Our two entrees, mushroom ravioli and sausage & chicken gnocchi were both terrific, excellent. Portions were sufficient. The renovated interior is very pleasant. We will definitely revisit soon.
