Pleasantly surprise with good news 2.0, great decor and even a better menu and food the service was very friendly, restaurant was very busy for lunch, always a good sign

Wow! I’ve been excited to see the changes since Good News changed owners and all I can say is I’m blown away. It’s like I walked into a European cafe in Sweden. My party was very nicely greeted and promptly sat, our server was so sweet and very knowledgeable. She was very helpful with my husbands food allergies. The menu was very nice, lots of different options and it was nice to see they still had some of the original Good News dishes we loved. We had the burrata starter and it was so good, I had the short ribs and all I can say was it was heaven. I’m so excited to have Good News back and running again and all I can say are the changes are fantastic and I cannot wait to bring my friends next time to sit at that beautiful bar!

Amazing food and service, the renovation is a major improvement from the old restaurant and so is the food. Will be back!

After being closed for renovations and reopening under new ownership, I must say that Good News Restaurant keeps delivering the goods. The space has been transformed to this beautiful open airy space, with a beautiful elegant design. The service was outstanding our server recognizes us from when we dine the last night they were open before it changed ownership. Sarah our server was gracious and kind and very accommodating to our requests. The food is delicious, everything we order was so fresh and made to perfection. We are already planning our next visit.

This was our first visit since reopening under new management and my wife and I felt a definite improvement. We sat inside but there is a lot of patio seating available as well. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, no issues. We had a delicious cranberry/apple/pecan salad to start. Our two entrees, mushroom ravioli and sausage & chicken gnocchi were both terrific, excellent. Portions were sufficient. The renovated interior is very pleasant. We will definitely revisit soon.

First time in since Carol sold the restaurant and was not impressed. The front desk is manned by two girls who look like they are about 16 years old. Checked in and was asked three times for my reservation and each time told the cannot find me. Finally showed the email confirmation and suddenly they found me. At this time there were quite a few open tables in the restaurant. We were led to an outdoor table (which we did not request) way ion a back corner and not a pleasant spot. Requested an indoor table and was then led to the next worst table in the restaurant by the emergency exit. In the mean time, the other half of our party had been seated prior to our arrival and all this could have been avoided if the front desk had done their job and realized our reservation had already been seated. As far a seating goes, during the seating process above I asked about several other more desirable empty tables to be seated at and was told those had been specifically reserved. Now there is no way to request a specific table on the reservation site and was told that I could have requested a certain table in the comments section. During my meal I also saw several other diners unhappy with their seating assignments request a change without success. The whole experience was unpleasant. The decor of the main dining room has also changed to a very modern design. The room is not unpleasant although feels a bit sterile and the lighting is harsh. None of the three diners at my table really liked the vibe. In addition many of the tables are situated in awkward locations and thus the requested to be re-seated. The bar remains much as it was before. Much more welcoming than the dining room and clearly the beaten heart of the restaurant. The outside space is not becoming and feels unfinished and raw. Some strings of lights, color, and upgraded table and chairs would help. The food was a disappointment. Unfortunately I am out of room to describe the dishes.

Six of us gathered for lunch to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday. We were all long time followers of Carol Peck’s, so we miss her but we are delighted to report that the new Good News is fresh, light and beautifully decorated. Several of the original staff are still there such as bartenders John and Mike. Several items from Carol’s menu are there as well like the Always Good Wok Shrimp and the short ribs. There is a Mac and cheese but it’s not the lobster Mac and cheese. If enough people ask for it perhaps it will appear one day. And don’t forget the desserts - all excellent!!

Service was excellent The renovation is a huge improvement over the old place We had a good meal but would love to see more of the best sellers from the old menu - Gemelli Pasta, Eggplant, cod, more fish offerings Why on earth would you change the Lobster Mac & Cheese !!! It was perfect and her best selling item! Need more variety of desserts and the new deserts were very good but tiny portions ! Over all a great meal and we will start going again

Was not expecting much when we tried the revamped Good News for the first time, so we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. We sat in the bar area, which thankfully has the same layout as before. Not a huge fan of the decor which I generally describe as “suburban hip” - like the designer threw all the mainstream trends from Pinterest at it. Not much soul or character and the overhead lighting is either too harsh or non-existent. Small table lamps with warmer light would help. Agree with others that the table placement in the main dining areas is awkward and uninviting, which is why we sat in the bar area. The hostesses were VERY young and inexperienced but this owner has the same issue at his other place, Bottega, so we knew to expect that. All that said, the drinks and food were really quite good. They still have the old Good News martini (yay) and a decent wine by the glass selection. The Burrata app was delish, I loved the meatloaf and my husband enjoyed the filet tips sandwich (although he was initially disappointed that the lobster mac and cheese was gone). We also ordered the key lime pie dessert to-go which was tasty, but as another diner noted, quite small for the price point. Work to be done, but we’ll be back.

Not a positive experience. Seated in a timely fashion but then waited a long time for service. The bar area receives most of the attention. No senior management visible to ensure a positive experience. Food was below expectation, lacking coherence, balance, and attention to detail. Did not expect to receive salt and pepper shakers when asked about pepper. Very clean interior but all other aspects that would draw you to a $30-50/per person experience were subpar. Needs a lot of improvement.
