For many reasons Saturday night's dining experience had to be special. I tried many of the more well known restaurants but could not get a booking at such short notice. I had never heard of the Good Gilbert but it had a higher star rating than most of the more well known restaurants. We arrived early, but our table was waiting for us. The waiter immediately offered us spring water while he took our drinks order. I had the Good Gilbert hazy pale and my partner had a custom made expresso martini. Both drinks were delicious. When we looked at the menu, it seemed to be very limited. We chose an entree each and the Angus Beef. One medium-rare the other well done. They have a smaller number of menu selections, but there is enough to cover all tastes and what they prepare is a gastronomic delight. The entrees were something we had never tried, they were both scrumptious. We really enjoyed them. The main course came out and the steaks were cooked to perfection. During the entree and the main course the waiter enquired if everything was to our satisfaction. It was, it definitely was. We both agreed that the steak was the best we had ever eaten. The service was exemplary. We had a few more drinks and then ordered dessert. Once again the dessert was scrumptious. We finished off the evening with a tea and a coffee. I can see why the restaurant has such a high rating. The food and service was outstanding. The price was very reasonable. I wanted the evening to be special, and the Good Gilbert made it so. We both agreed it was one of, if not the best, dining experience we had encountered. I would highly recommend the Good Gilbert restaurant. We will be going back there in the foreseeable future. We had 5 small plates, 2 mains and 2 desserts to share between 4 people. Everything was exquisite and delicious. The staff were amazing with recommendations and were passionate about food and wine. We can’t wait to go back!

Our appetiser... I don't know what the heck it was, but I could have eaten a plateful of those little units! Beautiful lamb shoulder with potatoes, THE BEST broccolini I've had ever with a great peanut sauce, nice leafy salad, and gorgeous chocolate perfection for dessert. Yes, perfect.

Loved the vegan options and to be able to eat opposite a mate who doesn’t eat vegan. Great Good Gilbert offers sound vegan options!

Went for a date and was served by a great guy who was only on his second shift but did such a great job serving us! He was helpful and had a great sense of humour, one of my favourite places for sure!

A perfect night in a perfect venue to host our son and his friends for a relaxed delicious beautifully presented dinner with wine chosen for us by the lovely table staff Good Gilbert Gorgeous food Great surroundings and Great people .. and a reasonable price too !

I took my parents for the reduced feed-me menu on a Tuesday and was not disappointed. There was plenty of incredible food across 3 courses and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and had great wine recommendations. We especially loved the lamb shoulder main and bbq broccolini, it felt like great value. GG is a perfect neighbourhood gem for a drink or a meal, can’t wait to come back.
