Good Fortune is a Hunger Thirst Group concept and the latest Asian Fusion restaurant and bar in Downtown St. Petersburg. Located inside the iconic Station House, 260 1st Ave South, Good Fortune serves sushi and a variety of Asian dishes and specialty drinks, including Japanese whiskeys and different styles of Sake along with local beers, wine and bubbles.

Although I have been here before, I was nervous to take some out of town guests last night because of the recent negative reviews on here regarding poor service. I have to say - for us, every single thing was as expected or better. I already knew it was loud in there - that's fun & vibey sometimes. Our food was absolutely excellent, drinks were great and server was perfect. It was a great night!

Couldn’t get anyone to come take our order, even after mentioning it to the guy behind the bar. Had to rate the food even though we didn’t stay to eat, in order to post this review. Guess we’ll never know, because we left.

Being my second time at Good Fortune, this time around was a bit disappointing. We had a reservation for 9:15 and arrived at 9 pm sharp and were okay with hanging out by the bar until our table was ready. By 9:27 we had still not been seated and received no update from the hostess until we had to go ask what was happening. This is upsetting especially since we as customers are charged a late fee ($10 per person) if we are 5 minutes late to our reservations. The restaurant was not packed for a Saturday and it was obvious they were under staffed. If that is the case then reservations should be limited to accommodate those issues instead of making us wait for more than 10 minutes for our server to bring us waters and plates. Our server was clearly overwhelmed, didn’t even welcome us to the restaurant just came to take our order. Not wanting to risk the wait until the next time we saw him we immediately placed our drinks and food order. 2/3 of our appetizers were forgotten and were not brought out until I reminded our server about it. The drinks took forever to arrive, even the coke that was ordered which was from a soda machine arrived after the first small plate appeared. 2 of our guest don’t drink alcohol and we were not able to order any mocktails since all the drinks are pre-made and no substitutions can be made. And the bartenders apparently can’t make anything outside of the cocktail list. The food is delicious but the menu should show which plates are spicer than others. The best plate is the pork belly fried rice. The ambience of the place is amazing, the music could be toned down just a smidge so conversations can still flow without having to scream. But the music is good. The target audience seems to be big parties and celebrations and for that this is the place but for a family gathering wanting to enjoy good a Asian meal this is not the place. Hope some changes can be made because this place has potential.

Made reservations 2 weeks ago for 4. They, at the last second, pushed two small tables together against a window in the very back corner of the restaurant where all 4 of us faced the wall. We said something and the manager came. They said they couldn't move us to one of the 4 empty tables as they had reservations for these specific tables (mind you, you can't pick your table when making a reservation). We finished our meal and the tables were still empty. The manager did bring us a shot tower which was really cool. We were all first timers, came for a friend's birthday and being put in the corner at a table they just created when we walked in, just felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We won't be back. That, alone, was just a bad look...not accommodating us to an actual table where we weren't facing a wall when there were plenty of tables that remained empty our entire visit, was very unwelcoming. The hype is just that.

Some food selections were very, very good! Service from front door, seating to dinner was lacking. Our table server was good but other hospitality has much to be desired.

Noted in my reservation we were celebrating my birthday, however that was never acknowledged so it was useless. Service was subpar at best and very slow. My friend got her food 20 minutes before mine and my boyfriend’s came out and there was no apology or reason why. Music was extremely loud for a very empty restaurant.
