GŎNG, the highest hotel bar in Western Europe is perfect for sunset cocktails and late-night drinks. The bar offers 3 lofted areas for guests to relax and soak in the cityscape including unrivaled views of Tower Bridge.
Uncomplicated and seamless, the bar’s first-class service ensures the ultimate escape from the city’s bustle. Sample one of the delicate, signature cocktails or indulge in a rare, vintage champagne with signature sushi and Asian dishes. Guests are required to be 18 years of age or older after 5:30pm.

Window seats are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Please note that there is a £30 minimum spend per person applicable to all guests over the age of 18. All bar reservations will be seated either in Champagne Bar, Cocktail Bar or Sky Pool.
Please note that the Kitchen closes at 22:30 Sunday to Thursday, and 23:30 Friday and Saturday. We currently do not accept OpenTable dining cheques.

This place has the views, excellent service, though for NV mass production champagnes the prices are ambitious but that doesn’t seem to dent sales. We went for something different and there is a small but interesting sake menu. Floor staff and service were excellent - very shangri-la but with a London sense of humour/personality- which is a great combination. Marked down to 4 star as there’s no excuse for not having full proper menus. QR codes and squinting at a iPhone might work in shake shack but at this level they need to get up to date. It’s very hard to make an informed choice on an online website on a small iPhone. Pet bug bear - but for a reason. It’s doesn’t work.

Had such a wonderful time at the Gong bar! The service was amazing, really friendly and accommodating staff. We asked to be sat by the window for the view as it was our anniversary. It was taken by someone else but as soon as they left they placed us there and it was the most incredible view of London. Lovely cocktails and atmosphere. It is expensive but you pay for the experience.

We reserved a table and the table wasn’t ready until half an hour later which was quite disappointing, especially because it’s such a high end bar. Food was good but portions were incredibly small for the price. Pretty extortionate. Staff were friendly and the view was incredible.

Check-in process was a bit unorganized. Do not get in the “Restaurant” queue; just go through the roundabout doors. Seating is good for those with good posture and a strong core. Being on the 52nd floor has its perks, especially if you luck out on clear skies. However, this works only if you get a table at the windows. Service was very hit-or-miss. Some of the senior staff could use some light and humor in their lives. I was served by three people. The first two had the personality of rusted iron doorknob. However, the evening was saved when a new server helped us move to a new table and was fabulous. Food was delicious, cocktails do not disappoint. This place is ideal for intimate dates or a friendly rendezvous.

The greeter at the front door was absolutely amazing with all kinds of help. he was the one who checked us in for our reservation. it was approximately 8 o’clock and we were early for our 830 reservation. He made sure that we were happy and got a great table. he was wonderful.

We chose to partly celebrate our anniversary at Gǒng in the Shard as we had talked for a while about both wanting to celebrate our time together in a special place with fantastic views. It was a mixed experience - the drinks and bar snacks were great and the views were as amazing as expected, but the service and general demeanour of staff at reception at the ground floor as well as some within Gǒng was quite rude and unwelcoming. The general sense that I got was that the Shangri-La, where the bar is based, is heavily over reliant on the location and views and very complacent with regard to treating guests with common courtesy. Some of the bar staff were lovely - one in particular took more time than we could have expected taking some photos of us, but others were unwelcoming and not overly helpful. This was a surprise as it is a 5-star hotel. We had a nice time - mainly due to the views and we don’t regret celebrating part of our anniversary in Gǒng, but I’d recommend spending special occasions elsewhere where you might feel as though your time and money is valued. Plenty of these places exist in London.
