The service and food was outstanding. There is an automatic 20% added service charge to the bill and the server even gave us a heads up on it. The view and menu cannot be beat for brunch!

Goldfinch Chowder 'Starter' came right away. A large bowl and the best chowder I can remember ever having. Worth the $18. It was a long, long wait for my 'Main' Goldfinch American Wagyu burger. In burger form, it is not possible to differential Wagyu from any other prime beef burger. The fries were excellent. $29! $151 including 20% service charge for two including one $20 glass of Rose and a $8 bottle, not tap, of Guinness.

Not our usually excellent experience at Goldfinch. Three of us were seated at a window table but next to the bar and a very loud table. We should have asked to be seated somewhere else; although a good hostess would have... But the service was amazingly poor. We sat for a very long time with empty water glasses and nothing else on the table, while servers walked by. Our waiter took maybe 20 minutes to bring one glass of wine and then I cannot say how long after, while I kept staring at him across the room (doing nothing) did he find the two non-alcoholic cocktails, which were pretty poor and languishing on the bar, for the other guests. Food took long-ish to come but was excellent as usual. Waiter tried to take one plate (a) which was not quite finished, and (b) while the other two were still eating. Brought other dishes without small plates or napkins for the utensils. I mean, where did they find their staff that day? Really disappointing, especially as we were catching up with and treating an out-of-town relative. Maybe Goldfinch won't be our go-to for a pleasant, classy, downtown lunch.

I enjoy Goldfinch Tavern's happy hour and bring friends and clients for the beautiful view of Elliott Bay, the service and quality drinks and food.

This is, as one would expect, a very chic, upscale restaurant in the very heart of downtown Seattle. The service is perfect: very attentive and personable without being intrusive. The food is of finest quality. It doesn't receive my 5-star rating, however, not due to any lack of quality or aesthetics, but because the menu itself is quite pedestrian. I ordered a filet mignon, my wife a pasta dish. We enjoyed both--but we could have eaten the same in most any far less pretentious restaurant. I also ordered a chilled pea soup, one of the few non-routine items; it was delicious as well as relatively unique. In short, food and service are superb. Just don't expect to be wowed by something you don't find on other menus every time you go out.

Had breakfast at the Goldfinch Tavern with two out of town guests. It is a convenient spot if one is driving because the valet parking means you don't have to hunt around for a parking place in seattle. And, the setting is lovely. The menu selection and food presentation are very good. We had asked for a window seat and were given one. I would highly recommend the Goldfinch Tavern .

Mediocre on a very good day, just pick another place! All around uninspired food, on the expensive side (not important if food quality would match the price), overall terrible value. Salmon crudo was bland and the citrus get had bad mayo consistency, marinated bursts was minuscule and brioche was a stale breadcrumb, capellini was advertised with “white wine Parmigiano-Reggiano” which did not exist as a sauce but as an oily dressing on the pasta (c’mon how can you make a Parmigiano-Reggiano pasta sauce that’s not creamy?) and on and on. The service was OK, the location is not special (no view). The “old fashion” was mediocre. On top of that they charged 20% by default for 3 people (maybe because they knew they would not have gotten it orherwise?)
