As you enter Golden Gai, you’re greeted by the warm ambiance of traditional Japanese decor fused with modern touches, creating an inviting atmosphere that is both chic and cozy. The soft glow of our stunning light fixtures over the intimate dining space, where the wooden bar top that spans the length of the space, and slate accents evoke the charm of Tokyo’s iconic Golden Gai district.

At the helm of our kitchen is Executive Chef Michael Taylor, a master of Japanese cuisine renowned for his innovative approach to flavor and presentation. Artfully designed intimate space. Our server was very attentive and courteous. Every dish was very fresh and delicious. Ordered miso soup, cucumber salad, golden roll, tuna roll, cali roll. The cocktails are works of art! I ordered the Manhattan- made with chili/sesame washed Japanese whiskey and garnished with a chestnut. It was amazing! The bartender was very personable and knowledgeable. They have plans to expand the restaurant which is needed. The majority of seats are at the bar (the entire restaurant probably seats close to 40 people. The space behind the seating is very narrow and feels a little tight (I pity the servers) The bathroom has one stall. None of this took away from our experience, though We'll definitely be back!

We went opening night. The food and drinks were amazing. Similar to Gi-Jin. Our waitress actually created the Saku menu, so she was able to advise. It’s a home run. We will be back. Side note: Bakery Square had a great lit up vide and aesthetic that I was not aware of.

Loved this restaurant and the food! I was waiting for the opening and it was well worth the wait! GET THE GOLDEN ROLL

Opening day!!! I’ve been waiting for this place to open for SO long and they did not disappoint. As this is a sister restaurant to Gi-jin, tákö and other Deshantz locations the quality is consistent. Friendly and attentive staff. Drinks were 10/10 we tried the rock shrimp to start this was good, but I just don’t think my favorite dish. I’m excited to come back and try some other apps. We got the nigiri plate as a main (add toro you’ll thank me later). Freshness and flavor 10/10 as with Gi-jin also, definitely can see the similarities. Last we had the matcha miso lovely presentation and delicious we scraped the bottom of the container lol. I will be back very soon!! ❤️

Great food, great drinks, interesting interior design. The music could be a little softer, but that’s a quibble. Excited to return.
