Glass House is a fresh new seaside restaurant / café that aims to regenerate the pavilion building and surrounding Redoubt Gardens. Returning it into a destination for community and visitors to eat, meet, relax and celebrate.
It is dedicated to bolstering both Eastbourne’s community and heritage, showcasing local produce and culture whilst allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the spectacular views of our beautiful seafront.

    Staff very friendly and breakfast was delicious. We tried the vegan and the standard and everyone enjoyed it - a great place for Sunday brunch.

    Very poor customer service asked staff to put the heating on and was told they didn’t have heating in the building. Not one member of staff asked if we were happy with the meal very poor customer service it is not acceptable to sit with coat on

    The Glass House is a lovely restaurant. We went for breakfast and chose a Glass House English Breakfast and an Avocado and poached eggs on toast with a side of bacon. The English breakfast in the main was good apart from everything being just warm and not hot. The avocado and eggs on toast was good just presentation let it down. A few more staff needed to improve on the service. Will definitely go again but will ask to ensure the food is served hot.

    It was our first visit there. Reception was speedy and showed to our table. The menu was clear and distinct and choice a little limited but enough to make a choice from. Service was polite and attentive. Food quality was good we both had the Moules. Think with this meal choice an offer of a roll or piece of French bread would be nice to enjoy the lovely sauce!! Major negative was the noise from other tables at a time that the restaurant was not packed. I would probably choose to go midweek next time.

    My first visit to The Glass House and definitely not my last. A large internal area with well space tables and quieter areas. Well lit and excellent outlook onto the surrounding areas. We were not greeted on arrival and two of the younger staff appeared less than interested to approach us. A well placed table, efficient waiting service but a restricted menu on offer with no replacement dishes for those that were no longer available. Amy and Tory (Supervisors) worked hard and enthusiastically to ensure that we got the meals we desired. Lots of suggestions and advice about the dishes and drinks on offer.

    The restaurant and its setting is lovely. It is spacious but with little attention to acoustics when the whole ceiling could have acoustic panels on it which would make a huge difference. No fabrics anywhere to absorb noise. Every member of staff was polite and helpful. The menu is limited and with two items not availabe made it even more so. The coffee machine was not working. The hand held card machine could not split the bill. I shall try it again when it has had more time to settle.

    Staff are lovely, Food could do with being hotter, also please warm plates. Meal would have been outstanding if it was hot.

    The sardine starter was 2 tiny fish with a huge piece of roasted veg. Not good value for £9. Shared the fruit de mer main. Very good, except the smaller items were served straight onto the ice and disappeared into water when the ice melted. Why not put those items on a dish rather than them swimming in water and being impossible to get at as the ice melted? Tried the house red. It was awful and when we mentioned this we we told 'what do you expect for a house wine'? At £24 we expected something much better! Our served was very young and enthusiastic and she tried her best. Unfortunately the food took ages to be delivered and didn't all come together. meaning wee had to chase for various dishes. Some really good aspects to the place but lots still to work on.
