Gjelina is a restaurant that serves locally-sourced, produce-forward food with menus guided by conversations and long-standing relationships with farmers, local ranchers, fishermen, and co-ops. Our first location Gjelina LA in Venice Beach opened in 2008 becoming a staple in the local community. In 2023, we opened a Gjelina location in New York at 45 Bond Street. A month into being open, we had a fire and had to close our doors. As we complete construction and prepare for our reopening in fall 2024, Gjelina NY has had a series of pop-ups this summer, beginning with WSA in June and July, and NO BAR at The Standard, East Village, for the month of August. Our third location, Gjelina Las Vegas is scheduled to open at the end of 2024.

I was so excited to experience the pop-up—Gjelina is one of my all-time favorite restaurants and I make a point of going any time I’m in LA. I eagerly awaited the NYC opening and like so many, was so sad to hear about the fire. The pop-up seemed like a perfect way to help the team and celebrate the re-opening. We booked a seven person table for my birthday. While the staff were kind and doing their best, we were disappointed. The food didn’t sparkle the way I remembered. The entire place was understaffed making everything very slow (again, everyone was kind and doing their best but they need more help!) Many things we wanted to order were out, from wine to liquor to menu options. With the limited menu we tried most of the options and nothing really wowed us. I normally don’t provide negative feedback without the intent of hopefully helping (especially when I can see people hustling and trying). I know it’s a tough environment to run a pop up and I am hopeful the restaurant opening will be better set-up. I’d love the chance to get a table when it does.

I had the heirloom tomato salad that was excellent for a starter. My main course was the chicken which was okay as I did not feel it was anything outstanding for the price paid. Service was somewhat slow - maybe because we sat outside and only one other table was being served out there as well.

What they do with simple stuff like tomatoes, eggplant and sourdough bread is a miracle. Everything is delicious and your body will thank you. Just get some better IPAs, please. Love the ambience, too.

We have dined at Gjelina and their sister restaurant, Gjusta, many times in LA and have always loved our experiences. Their NY pop-up did not disappoint. We ordered several plates to share and everything was excellent!

Gjelina in Venice has always been one of my favorite restaurants in the world. It's such a treat having them in NYC as a pop-up...and can't wait for the official restaurant to re-open. Last night's dinner was perfect on every level--fantastic food, warm, friendly and fun service...and a perfect martini. Can't wait to go back.

The food was good but nothing special. Wine and cocktails were very overpriced. the server was awkward at best— which I’ll chalk up to this being a pop up.

Hello, I’ve dined at Gjeliina NY 4 times. The first time was when you first opened on Bond St. the week before the unfortunate fire. The past 3 times were at The Standard East Village. My first 3 dining experiences were great - food, service & ambience. My 4th visit last night was not to the same standards as my previous visits.

Gjelina brought back all the memories from a beautiful experience at their LA location that I had years ago. A delicious and healthy dinner. Loved the outdoor seating at the Standard EV!
