                                                  We enjoyed the excellent food and the true level of care that they put in their service. One of our party member has had throat cancer and has to eat smooth food, they called to make sure they could meet her needs. This is A + for us , overall, it was a perfect evening ! Dominique

                                                  Let’s just start by saying that this was not our first time at Gitanes. The staff was very nice and polite. Besides that, we had the worst service. I was there with my girlfriend and my brother’s fiance and their daughter and we arrived at 8pm. The server who was taking care of us took quite some time to get our drinks order and got all of our drinks a good 20-25 mins after we had arrived. Then took another 20 minutes to get our breads. The food that we order was another story, we order our food around 8:20 ish and we got our food almost an hour and half later. We all ordered steak and fries. When we asked about the waiting time they simply told us that it’s due to the steaks that needed to be well done. We only asked for two well done steaks. Anyways, we got our food, all of them being very cold.My sister in law asked for her food to be heated up and the rest of us just wanted to leave at this point. There’s no such thing as waiting for almost 2hrs for cold steak and frites.

                                                  We did the tasting menu and it was incredible! Every dish was made perfectly and the drinks were also delicious. Really enjoyed our first time here and will definitely be back. Hannah was our server and she was wonderful, really added to the experience.

                                                  This is an amazing restaurant! Our server was very professional and so knowledgeable! Her guidance on our wine selection was perfect! The setting is warm and inviting and at the same time cool and edgy. We covered the gamut of food selections ranging from the seafood platter to lamb to halibut. Everything was perfectly prepared. I highly recommend Gitanes.

                                                  The Burrata salad was outstanding and the Gitane burger was amazing. Terrific flavours in both and innovative. The service from start to end was most amazing. It’s a fun little place and you will want to try everything!

                                                  A small French restaurant that was perfect for dinner on a short, rainy trip to Ottawa. Welcoming and friendly with an appreciated leisurely pace. Two mocktails, both delicious. Shared the steak frites. Upon being told of a 30 minute service time ( cooking and resting ) we ordered the buratta with peaches as an appetizer. The hanger steak was the best ever, perfectly medium rare. Overall highly recommend Gitanes.

                                                  We started with the mussels, which were phenomenal. The halibut was also top notch. Terrific food, great service. We will definitely be back!
