Chef Stephanie Izard and her team are thrilled to join LA’s vibrant restaurant community and continue our tradition of serving tasty, bold-flavored foods in a fun and lively family-style setting. A few favorites, like goat empanadas and sautéed green beans, will be back on the menu. Stephanie and her team have also crafted new dishes inspired by California produce and local flavors, like carrot-tahini dip with tahini tofu, and curried goat with radishes, pickled vegetables, and masa chips. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of fun cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located in the Arts District at 555 Mateo, Girl & the Goat offers dinner service Monday through Sunday, plus brunch Sunday. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads and adventurers!

Join Chef Stephanie Izard and team for her periodic pop-up featuring seasonal ingredients and creative plates. This fun and delicious evening will feature a Summer-inspired multi-course menu with Steph herself. Pull up a seat for an evening of bold flavors and shared adventure! **Please note, dining is communal seating, and you will get to dine and mingle with other reservations at the same table! **Due to the nature of this event, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate dietary restrictions.     Everything was great except that the server at the check-in counter was not very friendly. We arrived 10 minutes earlier and they said a bit glumly we needed to come back in 10 min. At our second visit to the check-in counter after 10 min, we were welcomed by another person. All the foods we had were very delicious, the ambiance with the high ceiling feels so nice. We ordered short-rib chilaquiles, potato crepe, and blueberry pancake. They served the pancake last, which I think is a thoughtful consideration, because the pancake is a bit sweet and it's better to have sweet one later.

    This is our second time to this location and wasn’t quite as good. Loved the beef noodle dish but a little disappointed with the goat curry. Service was wonderful.

    I started with a coffee and sunshine – caravedo pisco, passion fruit honey lemon, and copa vida goat blend coffee bean – which I had not had since the first time I went. Mike, the head bartender and someone I text regularly, told me what would be disappearing from the menu, and I decided I wanted This Little Piggy – Sichuan sausage on a cheddar scallion biscuit with both hoisin and chili mayo and strawberries, brought out by Stephanie’s #2 guy in the kitchen. Delicious. When I finished, the kitchen produced something called yogurt & granola & other fun stuff which included a scrumptious avocado crema. The kitchen is spectacular, as is the bar.

    This is one of our favorite restaurants. Everything is so flavorful and service is amazing! Every dish is created with flavor and texture in mind which leads to a delicious and exciting food experience.
