Chef Stephanie Izard and her team are thrilled to have joined LA’s vibrant restaurant community and continue our tradition of serving bold-flavored foods in a fun and lively family-style setting. Stephanie and her team have also crafted new dishes inspired by California produce and local flavors, like carrot-tahini dip with tahini tofu, and curried goat with radishes, pickled vegetables, and masa chips. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of innovative cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located in the Arts District at 555 Mateo, Girl & the Goat offers dinner service Monday through Sunday, plus brunch Sunday. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, travelers and adventurers!

Great food and ambience, I highly recommend! Only issue is they no longer have valet so parking was a little bit challenging.

Great ambience , service, and space. Overall the food quality was very high but we found the the dishes to be very salty and over spiced. Less spices so you can actually taste the main entree - just too many components in the dishes IMO.

Innovative and very yummy food. Outside seating was cold in November, even with space heaters. I'd go back though, even if outside.

Some good some bad, food is inconsistent and service is absent. I'm a huge fan of their location in Chicago and used to go there whenever I was in Chitown for work conference. So when they opened this location in LA I was naturally excited about it. Finally made it here and it was a rather disappointing experience. The interior is much nicer than the Chicago one, but the food was just inconsistent and the service was really bad especially for the high prices they are charging. Portion size is very small and some items just really missed the mark. The good: sea bass was good. Shrimp salad was good. Drinks were tasty. The bad: everything else we ordered - beet salad was whatever, goat curry was too much different flavors in the same plate. Short ribs way too dry. The brownie dessert tasted like something from a Sara Lee carton, cheap and flavorless. Most of the item just had too many competing strong flavors that didn't necessarily complement each other. Our server was really kind of a B. She didn't smile much at all, disappeared for most of our meal and when she did come she just slapped the food on the table. Overall a disappointing experience that cost way too much. Will not be returning!

The food is outstanding. I’ll be craving the poke again. The bass was incredible too. Best beer salad and best carrot salad I’ve ever had. But will try different veggies next time. Music was terrible 90s, early 2000s pop, wicker chairs were beautiful but uncomfortable. Will be back and ask for regular chair sitting.

This was my first time at Girl & the Goat and it surpassed my expectations. Every item we ordered was so flavorful and beautifully presented. Service was warm and friendly as well. Drinks were good but took a bit longer to get than normal. Otherwise, it made for a great night.

Amazing unexpected flavors. Every dish was craveable. Despite its popularity it remains one of LA’s best kept secrets. Recommend Green beans, baked mussels, pork shank

We’ve been to the original in Chicago and went in with high expectations. Walking in atmosphere is light and bright very open. Server was very attentive. However we ordered cocktails and the prix fixe menu at the same time. Unfortunately our cocktails came after the first wine pairing and same time as our first course. Went into the restroom at the end of our meal and it was absolutely blown up. Trash overflowing. Not restocked, etc. I’ve been in nicer gas station restrooms. That threw me off. With that said, I would still go back with friends for atmosphere and quality of the food.
