Chef Stephanie Izard and her team are thrilled to join LA’s vibrant restaurant community and continue our tradition of serving tasty, bold-flavored foods in a fun and lively family-style setting. A few favorites, like goat empanadas and sautéed green beans, will be back on the menu. Stephanie and her team have also crafted new dishes inspired by California produce and local flavors, like carrot-tahini dip with tahini tofu, and curried goat with radishes, pickled vegetables, and masa chips. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of fun cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located in the Arts District at 555 Mateo, Girl & the Goat offers dinner service Monday through Sunday, plus brunch Sunday. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads and adventurers!

Join us on August 3rd for another family-style feast hosted by Chef Stephanie Izard and Chefs Claudette Zepeda, Antonia Lofaso, and Danielle Duran-Zecca. Plus delicious cocktails crafted with one of our favorites, Santo Tequila. Cheers to a brunch you don't want to miss. **Please note, dining is communal seating, and you will get to dine and mingle with other reservations at the same table! **Due to the nature of this event, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate dietary restrictions.     The food was great, the atmosphere was awesome. My reservation was at 8:15 and they didn't seat me until almost 8:45. If that was due to tables not opening up, that would be of no issue, but I was a single person eating at the restaurant and there were at least 2 (possibly 3) groups of 2 that came in after me that were seated first. It seemed clear to me they wanted to seat me in a specific 2 seater table (probably with like an inexperienced waitress or something along those lines), but that really irked me. They didn't really even try to hide it. The hostess said to me twice her "manager was trying to find a spot for me". It is what it is. The food and the atmosphere were great, but when you don't get seated even for 30 minutes with the above info it's tough to give a great review.

    The food and ambiance were good. The music was great inside but was a little too loud for me. The food portion is perfect for one person.

    We stopped in for the dineLA menu, figuring it would be a ‘greatest hits’ kind of preset menu. There was only one dish I’d consider getting again, two I don’t even know how they made a menu. The dessert, the brownie Sunday, tasted like a dank edible, very strong weed flavor. The basil just didn’t come out right? Idk. Every time a plate was empty it was immediately taken away, no time to scrape anything off. The place is very cute inside, but the food is just not that great, and not worth $200 for a meal for two with a single glass of wine.

    The food was delicious. Many different flavors to experience. The patio seating was nice, not too hot or sunny and less noisy than inside.

    Their DINE LA prix fixe menu was very disappointing. All of the items - except dessert - had a tart note that took away from the dishes and accumulated over the course of the meal on your pallet. Our server, Lindsay, was great. She was attentive, knowledgable, & pleasant. When my wife answered her inquiry, as to how the meal was going, with the tartness issue with each item, Lindsay must have advised someone in the kitchen. They gave us an additional dessert to sooth our pallets (smile). We have eaten there before from their main menu & it was outstanding. This prix fixe was an expensive Fail.

    food is excellent, particularly the vegan options! but the 4% surcharge for employee healthcare that's optional is crazy. pay your employees a good wage and offer then healthcare, and pass that on to diners! that is the responsibility of the employer, not the diner!! are you seriously implying that you would not give servers and others healthcare if we decided not to pay the 4%? also, server totally upsold us on food even after telling me she would make sure i didn't order too much. ordered way too much and some duplicates (fried mushrooms come with naan and dips and we also ordered separately). that wasn't fair.
