Chef Stephanie Izard and her team are thrilled to join LA’s vibrant restaurant community and continue our tradition of serving tasty, bold-flavored foods in a fun and lively family-style setting. A few favorites, like goat empanadas and sautéed green beans, will be back on the menu. Stephanie and her team have also crafted new dishes inspired by California produce and local flavors, like carrot-tahini dip with tahini tofu, and curried goat with radishes, pickled vegetables, and masa chips. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of fun cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located in the Arts District at 555 Mateo, Girl & the Goat offers dinner service Monday through Sunday, plus brunch Sunday. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads and adventurers!

Second time here and the flavors are just so wonderful. I suggest to come here with a larger party (6) so you can order a bunch of dishes since it is for sharing. Will come back for sure.

We had drinks at Bavel and an app before walking over to our dinner reservation at Girl and the Goat. Upon entering, we were welcomed (not really) by the hostess at the front. Didnt really say hi or welcome, was just whats your name and reservation name and time.. and then off to the table.. was not warm .. The decor felt dated , even though they are relatively new there.. was dark and kinda Meh if you ask me. Server was a tad better than the Hostess but still no real connection.. they felt like robots going through a process vs being engaged. Drinks were OK... nothing super special and not bad.. kinda what you would expect for the price/venue and following. Even the runners didnt engage and speak with you.. they just dropped off the food and walked away .. Not the kind of service and engagement one would expect. We were kinda upset for leaving Bavel and coming here since Bavel hit on all of the above ... and probably why the lack of service and attention was so noticeable. With that being said, Dinner was fantastic. We loved our apps and entrees and it made up for the initial misses with service and communication. I would definitely come back for the food and hope they make a effort to work on the other aspects.

Every dish is absolutely unique and delicious. This was our second visit and it won’t be our last. Staff is efficient but also extremely friendly and the chef’s ability to combine a range of flavors into one delicious plate after another is truly remarkable

As anticipated the food was delicious and the service was terrific. Really enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the restaurant.

My second time there. It did not disappoint! Very creative, delicious food. Server made the experience even better with recommendations and serving dishes in tasting menu style. Definitely, my favorite restaurant in the Arts District.

Girl and The Goat is one that will be on my fav list!! Food is so delicious ~ creative ~ multilayered. Loved every bite of everything we had! Great cocktail and they have mock-tails, too! Really great vibe, great decor, great service. Had a wonderful experience!
