The Afternoon Tea Ritual is a quintessential St. Regis tradition and an important part of our culture. The story of afternoon tea date back to Anna, Duchess of Bedford who is considered to have invented the ceremony of the afternoon tea party. Mrs. Caroline Astor adopted the tradition stateside, offering an occasion to gather her closest intimates as a prelude to formal social events. This ceremony was then continued by her son, John Jacob Astor IV, at the St. Regis New York, and ultimately around the world as a signature ritual in all of our hotels.. Our exquisite afternoon tea ritual offer is presented in Oriente Italiano™ c/o Ginori 1735. La Via del Tè is particularly sensitive to environmental and ethical issues.

Lunch in an extraordinary location - overlooking the Grand Canal and Santa Maria del Salute. It doesn't get any more special. As luxurious and as exorbitant as you would expect. We might have preferred the same waiter throughout rather than the variety we experienced - but otherwise this was exceptional. Don't go if you are going to be conscious of the bill however - treat it as one of life's awesome experiences

Nothing but Spectacular! We selected Gio’s to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. St. Regis looks very simple and humble from the entrance however when you take your first step inside the hotel it’s Magical! Gorgeous hotel and elegantly done. When we stepped out to the terrace for dinner at Gio’s the ambiance, along with the setting and decor was outstanding. A lastly impression and feeling we will never forget. The food was delicately done and delicious. The staff were courteous and so lovely. They were very thoughtful and surprised us with a complimentary dessert for our special milestone. Afterwards we went to the garden terrace where my husband was allowed to enjoy a cigar and after dinner drinks. Perfect last night to our 4 day trip to Venice. Thank you to everyone.

Phenomenal, from the view to the food, all top notch. We were well taken care of and we had made a note that is was our honeymoon and the restaurant went over and above with surprises.

This was a fantastic experience from the very first entry into the hotel. Staff were attentive and helpful, the food was outstanding, and of course the ambience was top notch - you can’t really beat the setting! Special mention to the bigoli al torchio and to the bar tender who made an off-menu vieux carré to perfection. Thank you for lunch, we are already planning our return!

Everything was great but not all of us liked a lot the food. My daughter had the best pasta in Italy here, but I mine was just ok. Excelent service and location

What a pleasant experience! We booked the afternoon tea and Thomas was our server. He was knowledgeable about the history of the hotel, tea time and Venice. The food was delicious and so was the tea. We had a lovely time enjoying the Venice view along with the gentle soothing water sounds. We highly recommend the afternoon tea and sitting outside to enjoy this beautiful location and asking for Thomas as he added so much to the experience!!
