The Afternoon Tea Ritual is a quintessential St. Regis tradition and an important part of our culture. The story of afternoon tea date back to Anna, Duchess of Bedford who is considered to have invented the ceremony of the afternoon tea party. Mrs. Caroline Astor adopted the tradition stateside, offering an occasion to gather her closest intimates as a prelude to formal social events. This ceremony was then continued by her son, John Jacob Astor IV, at the St. Regis New York, and ultimately around the world as a signature ritual in all of our hotels.. Our exquisite afternoon tea ritual offer is presented in Oriente Italiano™ c/o Ginori 1735. La Via del Tè is particularly sensitive to environmental and ethical issues.

Excellent food and a great setting next to the Grand Canal. The perfect end to our Italian adventure! Service was impeccable as I would expect.

The staff are not very attentive. The receptionist at the entrance was not friendly when I told her I’m around 20 minutes early to my reservation. She just said “no your booking is at 7:30pm”. Didn’t expect such attitude and tone at a five star hotel and restaurant. Will not come back.

Our lunch to celebrate a special occasion while we were visiting Venice was totally amazing. The entire staff were so nice and went above and beyond. We had requested a waterfront table and the view was beyond belief! The food was so fresh and wonderful. I remarked about how delicious the house-made crackers were and where we could possible buy something like that and we were gifted some to take with us. The burrata and tomato salad was so fresh and we shared a pasta pesto dish which was very delicious. All the staff were incredible. Maria and Luca were extra-special and made our day fabulous. This is the place to celebrate a special occasion! We will treasure the memories!

We had an incredibly romantic dinner at Gio’s on our last night in Venice! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel special and invited us to sit in their beautiful garden overlooking the canal for cocktails before dinner. Then we were escorted to a lovely table on the patio in the restaurant for dinner. The meal was delicious and masterfully presented! We couldn’t have picked a better restaurant for our last night in Venice! Grazie Mille!!

The view was amazing. The waiters was perfect. Ambiance was very good.The food was also very nice. Everything was perfect we were very satisfied.

Booked far in advance with no issues upon arrival. Service was top notch, the food was fantastic and some very unique drinks. The setting is one of a kind, sitting waterside directly across from the Basilica della Salute.

Lunch in an extraordinary location - overlooking the Grand Canal and Santa Maria del Salute. It doesn't get any more special. As luxurious and as exorbitant as you would expect. We might have preferred the same waiter throughout rather than the variety we experienced - but otherwise this was exceptional. Don't go if you are going to be conscious of the bill however - treat it as one of life's awesome experiences
